They should expand on the idea with... "Who would win". Instead of voting for the ambiguous "greatest" superhero you would vote on who would win in a head to head matchup. Iron Man vs Batman, who would win the battle?

How the hell is batman winning? He's not even a superhero. He's just a random dude with a badass utility belt. Superhero IMO implies some super power which batman does not have.

any character can defeat any other character, it just depends on the circumstances (and the writer).

Batman is about brains and outsmarting his opponent....god, can't believe we're gonna have a superhero argument.

Batman has beaten Superman numerous times. He's got the brains and resources to bring anyone down.

I'd say that Captain America could take Batman, though.

Captain America is just genetically powered up right? With that indestrutible shield?

Batman depends on scouting and prep time. If you just throw him into a room with most superheroes, realistically he'd get his clock cleaned more often than not.

i like batman and all but i dont think he's #1 by any means. if its a who would be who in a fight...thats one thing. But its greatest superhero. Now does that mean stongest and the biggest as kicker? or simply who stands up for the most for the idea of a super hero.

    regardless...its spiderman :D

As much as Superman's powers give him an "unfair" advantage over the others, you have to admire his willpower and character to not just take over the world and force humanity to behave how he wants them to. Gonna have to go with the original Big Blue Boyscout.

(puts on super comic geek hat)

Super Soldier Serium, with the adamantium/vibranium combo shield. What gives him the edge is his decades of combat experience. Batman is no slouch, but by comics standards, he's what, 40?

Telepathic powers > physical powers. Jean Grey > Superman. She would make his brain explode from 60 miles away.
