Fat Lever, Alex English, Michael Adams, Michael Cage, Byron Scott, Derek Fisher, Danny Manning, John Starks, Dan Majerle, Danny Ainge, and the list can go on and on....
I'm thinking of Mitch Richmond. On Dec. 15th, he scored 47 points, including 25 points in the 4th quarter alone. I remember that night. He was in a "Michael Jordan" zone. I think he has the record for most points scored against the Rockets. -- droxford
Geez, why do so many Sonics come to mind? Nobody's even mentioned Ricky Pierce yet, he used to destroy us. Not a Sonic, but I remember Chuck Person killing us too back in the day. Can remember Petrovic lighting us up too, that dude was money. Oh, and who can forget Nick Anderson! (I kid, I kid)
Yeah, Richmond scored 47 against us, but did you bother checking my link? It's a recap for when Iverson dropped 58 on us.
I didn't notice your link.. but WOW he blew past Richmond. AI and 76'ers went to overtime in that game, but even in the first 4 quarters, AI scored 52 points. That's crazy insane. -- droxford
Plus, as mentioned above, Dana Barros always scorched us. I believe he was with Philly when he dropped his 50 on us. And Dirk just scored 53 on us a few months ago.
Sam Perkins at C really bothered Hakeem cause he never came inside and just shot 3 pointers and really cause Hakeem to not be in the paint as much as he wanted due to no Zone back then. Nick Van Excel Tim Hardaway Derek Fisher Just to name a few right now...im sure i will think of a few more in a bit =)
for 7 games, Derek Big bird Harper nearly brought the rockets down, and in so doing nearly brought the league to a preverbial hand check crawl. Luckily Clyde Drexler saved the basketball world.
It seems like in general the Sonics have always had our number. I remember in HS (somewhere b/t 1985-89) my dad bought a mini-package and we went and saw a game vs. the Sonics and I remember being down by about 30 at the half, I thought well it certainly isn't going to get worse. IIRC we ended up losing by 56, I believe at the time, it was the worst home Rox loss ever maybe still is, but it seems like the Sonics have always had and still do have great shooters. My votes go to Ellis, Chambers and X-man. I still hate those guys, but I got to give 'em credit they had our number.
Top of the list is Derek Harper. That guy made a living out of eating Kenny Smith alive. Ro Blackman too.
uhhh, no...Clyde didn't join until '95, against the magic. kenny, sam, mario, horry, OT, and Akeem saved the world in '94.
This guy has to top my all-time list. It has always amazed me how MAR/CJ overcame his "disability" and was able to play at the high level he did. This guy is one of the greatest underrated players in the history of the NBA. Chris Bosh is making his way up my list.
I have nightmares of Gary Payton and Rod Strickland driving the lane on us. For a long time, you could just insert the name of any quality PG. also..Hersey Hawkins J.R.Rider Cedric Ceballos
I remember Dana Barros had our # too. i remember when he dropped Fitty on us when he was on the 76ers
