Count me in for Adam Everett for all time Stros D team. He wouldn’t be anywhere close for all time O though..

Tim Bogar is another good one and was fun to watch. in 1997 head a DWar of 1.9 in 97 games.

Carlos Correa is an amazing SS, but it's more than a little absurd for anybody to have him ahead of Adam Everett defensively.

People still don't realize how all time great he was defensively.

I'd go with Verlander. Richard, Scott, and Cole may have had a better year, but Verlander has three of the best defensive seasons by a pitcher.

We've had more than one excellent fielding pitcher. I think at least one began his career as a SS.

Yes really based on JUST Defense. I will give you Correa has the best arm. But fielding range and almost no errors? Everett hands down and it's not close.

Yes I understood that it was JUST defense. I watched both players a ton. If you want to say that Everett was the better defensive SS thats fine. But to call it “absurd” to put Correa there is a little dramatic. Nobody is absurdly better than Correa at SS. Its actually absurd to say that there is.

Ok cool. He won multiple gold gloves for us but wasn’t on your list. Just thought I’d mention him.

Gold gloves are only for the fielding part of pitcher defense.

I am clearly confused then. I thought that was exactly what we were talking about.

Doran was a better defensive 2B than Biggio. Not sure what the metrics say but Doran was better. I never saw Rader play a single game so I cannot say how he compares to Caminiti, Bregman. Walling etc. But then I am just going off legend for Cedeno myself.

And only us Astros fans know it (maybe some Twins/Det/Cleveland fans from his short time in those places). Didn't Bill James call him the best defensive SS of all time?
