It's a shame he didn't get good and "one flap down" until he got to SF. When I was 13 or so, my buddies and I loved the picture of Rafael Ramirez on the scoreboard when he came to bat, he had a massive ****-eating grin on his face and a good amount of perm sneaking out under his hat, and the PA guy would heavily roll his R's when saying his name. That was great.
Very talented guy Wonder if more guys back then lost their shot with first team than today simply because of the way it was then
Vinny was a very good player for us, is a pity we did not re sign him. After us, he had a good couple of years including one with 35 homers.
Yes, but was always working on 1 year deal. A guy like him you need to secure him with a multi year contract. Now, i also believe that the Cubs gig will help him go national later on in his professional life as i really think he is one of the best. He has the knowledge and the witty to keep entertained the audience. What a great combination in Chicago having Maddon and DeShaies. Now, with our situation, i really like Blum, I don't like Ashby much, he does not give you much insight and many times you feel like he lacks knowledge. A guy that played almost his all career as an Astros, he should be able to give so many anecdotes and with all those pitchers he caught, and big games, i don't understand why he does not use them to entertain us Astros fans. For example, with Correa, why never mention a comparison with Jose Cruz, former teammate, and a way to give stories about Cruuuuuuuuz. Things like that.
