Oh man! You've got one of the most unbelieveable first 5 round Picks I have ever seen! Dirk, Brand, Odom, Pierce, Redd, Felton, Wallace(injury), Ben Wallace, Kirk, Hinrich, Kaman, Bogut (!), Roy, Gordon (!!!!!). I need to calm down for a moment. How many teams were there and what was your pick number (where you picking 1st or 2nd or 3rd?)
here is my team from my 10 team league i just draft with my friends...i certainly didn't have a great draft but i have a team to work with. PG D. Williams SG G. Wallace SF C. Butler PF E. Brand C Y. Ming Util D. Howard Util B. Davis Util M. Miller BN K. Korver BN J. Nelson BN S. Francis BN P. Gasol
Nice Roster, I'll take it that you are not caring for assists, since Deron Williams is the only 'true' point guard in the mix. You will do well in Rebounds, Yao, Brand, Howard are all big time rebounders, Miller and Butler should help too. Good to see a replacement for Davis (Nelson) as he's bound to go down to some injury. Your three pointer catagory should be fine, with Davis, Miller, Korver, Nelson and Williams all shooting (and making) threes. Blocks you'll have to rely on Yao, Brand and Howard again as your trio, and hopefully Wallace. This is a solid team (I'll guess the success of this team is about the Clippers level) and you should snag a catagory or two.
well baron was #2 in assists last year when he played. hopefully, his %'s will be better this year. he did have a great preseason with %'s. i was hoping jameer would see some improvement over last year even though he isn't a true pg. also, it is a head to head league so i should be able to win assists some weeks. since it is head to head i would love to hold on to gasol for trade bait for the playoffs.
Here is my team: D. Wade R. Hamilton Josh Howard L. Deng A. Harrington D. Howard T. Prince M. Miller C. Kaman B. Knight A. Walker Kevin Martin N. Krstic L. Barbosa R. Patterson M. Daniels Sh. Williams What do y'all think? Not bad for 6th pick in the draft..
Um, could you put in what Round did you pick your players? Because R. Hamilton is, erm awful in the second round.
My advice on Baron Davis: Drop him after he's on a healthy streak of games. If he lasts 40 games into the season, package him up with nice words about him, and try to trade him for some other point guard without injuries (Steve Nash, Allen Iverson, Gilbert Arenas, Chris Paul). You may take some losses as in points or assists, but I'd rather go with a healthy point guard over a injury-risk one. Marcus Camby is a center-eligible example, he's already injuried with some sort of god-knows-what injury, before the season started!
I drafted mine on Saturday, and I am stoked! Elton Brand Dwight Howard Rashard Lewis David West Allen Iverson Baron Davis Corey Maggette Kevin Martin Big Z Channing Frye Andre Miller Bonzi Wells Speedy Claxton Darius Miles Shaun Livingston
Before I get too hyped up at the quality of ClutchFans drafts, what was your pick and the rounds that you got the players please? (by the way, getting Elton Brand, Dwight Howard, Allen Iverson, Baron Davis is considered impossible, you must've bribed someone)
14-team league, drafted: 1. (8) D. Nowitzki 2. (21) C. Billups 3. (36) B. Miller 4. (49) R. Hamilton 5. (64) S. Battier 6. (77) B. Gordon 7. (92) L. Deng 8. (105) Z. Pachulia 9. (120) S. Jackson 10. (133) P. Brown 11. (148) C. Hayes 12. (161) J. Foster 13. (176) S. Jasikevicius 14. (189) K. Brown No longer have Jasikevicius or P.J. Brown, rather Damon Stoudamire and Devin Harris.
Here's how it went down: Elton Brand (1) Allen Iverson (2) Dwight Howard (3) Rashard Lewis (4) Big Z (5) Baron Davis (6) Corey Maggette (7) David West (8) Andre Miller (9) Speedy Claxton (10) Bonzi Wells (11) Channing Frye (12) Darius Miles (13) Shaun Livingston (14) Kevin Martin (15) We ended up with a 9 team league. I wanted 10 or 12, but we had some people flake out. I even started a recruiting thread in the desolate fantasy forum, but nobody bit. All in all, I was pretty lucky. I have a Mavs homer and a guy obsessed with all things Wallace (Rasheed, Ben and Gerald) in my league.
Nah, today is for the witch, werewolves, vampires, Frankensteins to come out. The devil comes out every day.
Here's my draft order. 1. (6) D. Wade PG,SG 2. (15) D. Howard PF 3. (26) C. Kaman C 4. (35) A. Harrington SF,PF 5. (46) R. Hamilton SG 6. (55) T. Prince SF 7. (66) J. Howard SG,SF 8. (75) L. Deng SG,SF 9. (86) M. Miller SG,SF 10. (95) B. Knight PG 11. (106) N. Krstic PF,C 12. (115) K. Martin SG 13. (126) A. Walker SF,PF 14. (135) L. Barbosa PG 15. (146) R. Patterson SF 16. (155) Ti. Thomas SF,PF 17. (166) Sh. Williams SF,PF I waived Thomas and picked up Daniels. I did some analysis and after making some generous assumptions for rookies and players that were saddled with injuries last year, I would come in 2nd place. The 1st place team has Marion and Garnett
Elton Brand, great first round pick. He produces consistantly and will bring points, rebounds, blocks to the table. Nice on Iverson too, he won't last if you had picked Dwight or Davis. Points, assists (may drop though) and some boards. Howard in third round, you are doing great in the first three rounds! Excellent value, should continue to mature and posterize people. Rashard Lewis at round 4 is something great too, three pointers and steals, even some blocks! Getting Big Z in Round 5 is perfect, you needed a center to complement Howard and Brand. And then, oh my, Baron Davis at round 6? In the middle round, extremely difficult to find talent like that, but my concern is who will replace him when he goes down? Corey Maggette, another good pick, but another injury concern too. He's great at driving into the lane and shooting free throw, and that (along with Iverson and Davis) should offset Dwight Howard's horrible free throw shooting. David West, a sleeper from last year, points might drop due to Peja, but gets rebounds too. You respond to Davis' inevitable injury with Andre Miller and Speedy Claxton, great picks at late rounds! Speedy is scheduled (lol!) to be a major sleeper this season, but beware, none of them can shoot the three ball, so look for three pointers elsewhere. Bonzi Wells at Round 11 was a slight reach, due to him being rather underestimated in fantasy leagues due to lack of news of him in the offseason. Channing Frye, another great pick, Isiah Thomas loves his rookies nad Frye should get double digit in points and maybe 8 rebounds a game. I don't like Darius Miles pick though, he always seems to have some mental problem, way to lazy to be drafted anywhere (at least for me). Shaun Livingston will be improving this season under Sam Cassel is a likely hope, and Kevin Martin should add even more threes, steals. All in all, great draft for you! Oh yeah, now for the points. Rebounding should be no problem for you, with two of hte top five rebounds on your team, but in the middle you seemed to have focused on guards, while getting David West and Channing Frye. Rebounds would be marked as one of the catagories you should win. Assists, you've got Iverson, Davis, Speedy, Miller, all of whom should see heavy minutes especially with first three. I'm not quite sure about Three pointers though, Allen, Rashard, Corey (?) and the last two guys in your draft are not know as three point specialists (I am not including Davis since Nellie seems to be leaning towards a less-three-pointers-for-Baron). Steals come from Iverson (what can he not do?) Rashard, Martin and hopefully Claxton too, I'm hopeful in that catagory. Blocks come from Brand, Howard, Big Z and.....errr.....Channing Frye not known for his blocking, nor is West. Probably in the middle in blocks for you. But still, incredible team you've got there. But always look for improvement, especially if somebody updates their trading block.
I didn't trade for novak, I picked him up off waivers. the trade for lbj was duncan / artest for lbj / josh howard (whom I later traded for peja).
