no, that's a fair point. cuttino just instantly came to mind when you said that...but i think i may overinflate cuttino's worth because i like him so much.
I understand that McGrady is a better fit with Yao. I have never not acknowledged that. I just feel that its funny that now everyone wants to overhaul the role players, but when Steve was here, it was he can’t make his sorry group of role players better. And as far as McGrady being a far better player than Francis, we are going to find out this season that gap isn’t as wide as you guys think it is. Like the TNT promo says this season “The Truth will be Told”
Statistcally, it will narrow. Realistically, wide as ever. Possibly WIDER than ever if Tmac can take his defense up a notch.
Can't compare Juwan's contributions to Cuttino's. That's comparing Bill Wennington to Michael Jordan. Juwan doesn't deserve wearing Cuttino's number.
Say what you will about Atlanta. They will be a better than 500 team before this year is up, if they play like they did in the 4th quarter more often. If not, then I guess they'll be worse.
There are many teams in the NBA that have been reconstituted to a great extent that are playing well together and are not beset by the chemistry and adjustment period that is being used as an excuse for the Rockets problems. I would be willing to accept that as excuse, except for the lack of skills such as athleticism and speed that the Rox need to contend. What makes it even more alarming is that the coach feels that way also, if the CEO of the team is concerned, why should the layman fan not be concerned. I admire your patience, but I don't think the majority of fans after blockbuster T-Mac trade are willing to accept a slightly better than .500 record and a first round exit in the playoffs like last year.
I really don't understand your point. The role players are missing wide open jumpers. How else do you make them better? You can't deny that those guys weren't this open last year.
wow...i can't believe i missed this angle!!! how did we miss this pgabriel??? the old "cuttino's number should be retired" angle. man, that's fresh, tinman!
I will not accept a .500 record and a first round exit! I firmly believe we will do better than that. I will accept a .500 record in the first 30 games though. If the following doesn't happen, no significant injuries of course, I will be disappointed: season record- 49-33 or better and second round in playoffs or deeper
How About this Deke > Cato . . am I wrong Pike gave us NOTHING ok that is kind of like Lue Rocket River
Exactly. I've all but quit posting with the mass negativism that's running rampant. (Thanks, Jeff for the objectivity). The current Rox don't score a lot of fastbreak points but they are an excellent transition team (excluding the final 5:00 in ATL). Both Ward and Lue bring the ball up with their eyes upcourt. Whether you like or hate Gundy-ball is purely subjective. I'll take the team missing wide open J's and playing lock down D any day over repetitive 1 on 3 (or 4) ISO's.
Deke=Cato I think Cato is quicker and is good with the alley oops Deke is slightly better defensive player
Hmm... Yao + Tmac Sura, Jimmy, Mo, Howard, and Dikembe...maybe Lue Padgett, Bowen, Nachbar, Weatherspoon, and Ward I like all of our players..they aren't bad. But it would be nice to have an athletic guy..like Trevor Azima or Nazr Mohommad..I like them. An athletic guy who can shoot..even like a Royal Ivy lol. Looking at our team..the guys are old..Nachbar is a good 3rd stringer for now..Bowen should be put in to hustle, run around, be a pest. Padgett..
Sura better be Magic Johnson if he is the piece we are going to plug in and rescue the season. That is, if he actually exists and doesn't pull an Adrian Griffin on us.
