I'm losing my mind. For some reason I thought Chris Bosh was starting. Just saw him on the reserves list.
I think Shaq actually is deserving.. he's been great this year. People are letting dislike cloud their judgment imo.. Deron has missed too many games I think, so I'm fine with him being left out. yoyo...millsap over one of those guys? He hasn't even been starting all half-season.. But I do think Al Jefferson deserves to be there. Not over anyone already on the team though. That's my only snub in the West East.. give me Ray Allen over Pierce. I think Vince deserves it over Rashard except that he's on a crappy team and they can't have 2 all stars. So actually, maybe give me Ray Allen over Rashard..
Vince Carter is awesome to watch, I'm going to miss him, damn it. What is lewis going to do? jack up threes, play inside out ball with Howard?
I love Deron Williams and I have him on my fantasy team, but he really hasn't made the Jazz win more this year at all. I just looked it up. The Jazz are 17-16 with Deron Williams and 8-5 without him this year.
Ok I still agree with my summary that Al Jefferson should be the 13th man in the West. East.. I'm amending. Give me Mo Williams over Rashard. If there's a 13th man, then I'll take Ray Allen.
Ray Allen got robbed best player from best team not to make it, Sad. I love watching Ray play and I'd root for him if he werent on the Celtics.
Al Jefferson and Deron Williams got slightly shafted. I'd have also liked to see Durant in there, but like someone said, he'll get many picks in the future.
If Granger's elbow problem turns out to be serious, look for him to be replaced by Vince Carter. David West also has some injury problems, if he's sitting down, look for Al Jefferson to replace him.
Rashard Lewis making the cut almost made me cry I laughed so hard. It's not quite 'Wally Szczerbiak/Memo Okur Bad' but he's up there. David West making the squad left me scratching my head as well. They need to do away with this "winning record = multiple team All-Stars by default" concept that [ironically] a lot of former players seem to be pushing. You have idiots like Kenny Smith saying every member of the "Boston Big 3" was deserving and Reggie Miller crying for Mo Williams under the premise that since the Cavs have the best record they deserve more than one All-Star. This is crap. In my eyes, NBA All-Stars should be the best players having the best seasons. Sure, your record should be a contributing factor in this decision but there is NO WAY that you can convince me players like Durant and Jefferson, who put up monster numbers despite being the #1 focus of attention for the opponent, are less deserving than guys like a David West or a Rashard Lewis (I realize the irrelevance in the latter, just using an example). May I also ad: I'll throw a ticker tape parade if they ever get rid of the fan voting. I don't care if the intent of the game itself is to be the "fan's game" -- the fans don't know enough to vote intelligently. Especially with the Chinese influence skewing the results -- Yi, freakin YI!, almost got voted a starter over Garnett. Then you have AI starting? Amare starting? It's a disaster that those results can't get overruled somehow like they can do in the NFL. At least with Paul/Kobe/Duncan/Yao and Wade/LeBron/KG/Howard they got 8/10 right, I guess. Still, there should be some type of contingency that allows common sense to prevail that can prevent sub-standard 'All-Stars' like Amare and AI from getting the nod in the future.
Shaq deserves to be an all-star this year. He's playing a lot better than he did the last couple of years. Al Jefferson also deserves to be an all-star, but he will have plenty of opportunities in the future. I'm glad to see that Jameer Nelson is an all-star. Well deserved.
David West doesn't deserve it talent wise, but deserves it performance wise. That guy has one of the sickest mid range jumpers in the game. Besides, it is really not that hard to suck when you get perfectly fed balls by CP3.
