I thought that's what the Rockets were trying to get away from when they hired Rick Adelman.

Sort of out of topic, but Yao was much more creative and relaxing under Rudy T.

I thought Adelman actually ran very precise sets, just our teams fails at execution.

Centers normally don't do well in asg. Dave and shaq did ok. Shaq is just special. He's big and quick.

Good, the all star game is so boring, I don't even watch it and am glad to hear Yao hardly played. I wish he would skip the whole event entirely and rest up instead.

Why are you so serious, it's the all-star game? The fewer minutes he plays the better for him and for the Rockets. Also, you get voted in by playing well in real nba games not how you play in the all-star game.

Eh, from what I saw at least, people were making a pretty decent effort to try to get it to Yao. CP3 and Kobe went into triple threat just to shovel it into the post...which really almost never happens in the ASG.

this is really subjective, but Amare was actively looking for Yao and giving him some props as well...

    huh

    i hope too much

I saw them give it to Yao a couples times. As someone else stated, Yao and the Rockets asked Phil Jackson to limit Yao's minutes.

Did anyone see Yao guarding Lebron out in the perimeter? He didn't do half bad :)

Please remember there are big cultural differences-
Yao Ming plays Basketball-- the others went there to have fun! :p

He ran a read and react offense in Sacramento, and the hope was that we'd do more of that in Houston. You know, get away from the predictable JVG offense that was shut down in the 07 playoffs. It hasn't really happened, and I suspect it won't happen with Yao as a central piece. It's not playing to his strengths.

Yao sucked tonight he was sluggish and didn't really know what to do on offense. Got blocked by dwight and was like 2 steps slower than the rest of the players on the court. His lack of quickness was glaring when every other all star got the rebound faster than him even though Yao had the better position.

That's the problem with his game.

TNT is showing an immediate repeat of the All-Star game right now in case you want to watch it again.

Yao said he felt slow compared to the others and said he felt like he was taking a speed test. Said the game was too quick for him. Commentators in the 2nd half or so said that Yao told Phil Jackson that he only wanted to play the first six minutes of each start of the halves. Limiting his own minutes.

Duncan didn't play that much either.

Hopefully he doesn't feel that way in the playoffs, when the intensity of the games ramp up 100%.

media says Yao was voted in all star games by Chinese.
shouldn't houston fans be happy for his limited play time in the game?

I have never voted in all-star games in my life. But with all the circus going on, even on Rockets board about deserving or not, Chinese fans this and that, I will definitely vote for him next year.
