I had this idea of NBA adding one addition event to all-star weekend - a hall of famer game.

It would be a one time thing (not annual event) as there aren't that many HOFers that can still move fairly well, so all of them would have to be fairly recent additions.

Wouldn't it be fun to watch a game of

    Magic / Gary Payton
    Jordan
    Pippen
    Barkley
    Shaq

    vs

    Isiah Thomas / John Stockton
    Reggie Miller
    Dominique Wilkins
    Hakeem
    Admiral

Sadly I would hate seeing those old men laboring to play a pick up game. It would ruin the image I have of their dominance.

Haha, never thought of it that way. I guess there's some merit to that. On the other hand, wouldn't it be great to witness MJ still dunking at age 50? I'm sure he could still do a 360 dunk.

This is no Uncle Drew advertisement. Most of them if not all of them is out of shape.

If the HOFs want to do something like a HORSE game, I'd be down with that.

They used to have an NBA legends game. I remember Murphy and Newlin playing in it. They both took the game very seriously(as would be expected) and were diving on the floor and running circles around the other players. It was pretty funny.

I don't think chuck would last 5 minutes on the court.

Something like the legends and celebrity game in baseball? I dont see that working out well for basketball. Interesting idea though.

I cannot remember what year they discontinued it, but I'm thinking mid 80s. circa 85-86.

Take a look how effortless he looks making a simple dunk. If he actually TRIED hard on a one-legged 360 dunk, he'd do it. Definitely.
