i am going to vote for t-mac in the allstar game just b/c it would be EPIC if he played in the ASG without having logged a single minute as a Rocket.
Exactly it just shows what a complete joke the ASG is. However, in the end, I feel like the most of # votes will go to the more deserving player. If you guys remember last years NFL Pro Bowl fiasco with nearly all the Redskins players leading the votes in the majority of the positions. But, when the Pro Bowl was actually played, those Redskin players didn't make it.
Just noticed this under the vote count... "INSIDEHOOPS.COM EDITOR REACTION TO VOTING RESULTS So Tracy McGrady hasn't played this season, yet right now he's got the second most votes of any guard in the Western conference. Let's be honest here. The votes are presumably coming from China, where fans of Yao Ming tend to also vote for T-Mac regardless of whether he deserves it or not. This is getting ridiculous. Perhaps the NBA needs to have overseas votes or internet votes count less than actual paper ballot votes. And make it so the only way fans can get paper ballots is by going to games. That would give priority to the fans that actually pay to see games, and, I presume, stamp out at least some of the silly voting some overseas fans are doing."
Guess this explains some of the blind Tmac fan-boy'ism in the GARM. Not to worry, someone'll make a phone call to Stern Corleone at the last minute and whoever's in third will suddenly "surge ahead" of Tmac by 50,000 votes. Kinda like the last couple years.
You know what though... the more I think about it the more I think it's not the Chinese fans. I think it's moronic US fans who don't know he's not playing. Let's put it this way... there are a lot of Rockets basketball games on in China... how many have they had on this year. People who would be voting for the Rockets players out of China have probably watched a game this season. Now, in perspective.. how many Rockets games have been on TV in the US? That's right... none. So you have all these people who are NBA fans, who know what tmac "used" to do, and like him voting because they think if he's on the ballot he must be doing well. If it were true that it was just Chinese fans, Trevor and Aaron AND Scola and Battier would have a lot more votes!
Is anyone else really tired of the disrespect thrown at Chinese people for no reason? "Well, if T-Mac is doing well in All-Star voting, it must be those b-ball ignorant Rocket fans in China that are voting him in!" Yeah, it couldn't possibly be the same moronic Americans who voted in Vince Carter one year when he was injured and barely playing.
in the end its just what the fans want and if whole china wants to see t-mac then just let the guy play... ima vote for him although i aint chinese and why is b-roy so far behind. i vote for him everytime
Why are you guys crying about it? I think it would be really funny if TMac got voted in and decided to play, especially if Adelman still insisted that TMac was not ready by that time. I figured that the ASG was a joke long time ago. So it's not about deserving or not. It's just about fans having fun with the voting. Last year, someone started the Marbury campaign and it was fun.
They WILL do it unless he comes back and show everybody he has hoops. But this can be used as a GREAT motivation for him. We all know he is at his best when he is MOTOVATED. Health doesn't seen to be a problem.
