Go to his last 7 or 10, the guy has been horrible shooting the ball, still getting it done in assists etc.....but even that is starting to wane as he looks lost out there.

I was hoping that we did not have another Brooks situation where it is one great year than back down to earth, but.........well it is only 20 gamesish.....

Kyle is a glue guy even when he's not hitting shots.

One thing I've noticed is the Rockets have always had GREAT chemistry when Lowry is in the game.

Yeah, he is still the engine that makes the team go with his assists, but he has to pick up his shooting or teams will start laying off of him and force him to shoot, which has always been his weakness....

Last year, he sorted that out, let's hope it was not an aberation, but actual improvement....because if he really has not improved in his shooting, he is not starting material, and should go back to being a backup energy guy on the bench.

Got to be able to shoot to start.

Take that Anthony! You didn't want to play for Houston because we're a play hard team? Enjoy the suck in NY.

Kyle is shooting 88% from the line and 37% from 3's (before today).

    He's fine.

He is NOT going back to the bench.

Well, unless we sign Derrick Rose.

The whole season has actually said otherwise so far. So far that 20 game sample is larger than your two game sample. Also last year we can go get the stats and he was starter material and better then too.

Last 8 games, his shooting has been really bad. Here are his stats over this period:

    <style type="text/css"> table.tableizer-table {border: 1px solid #CCC; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px;} .tableizer-table td {padding: 4px; margin: 3px; border: 1px solid #ccc;} .tableizer-table th {background-color: #104E8B; color: #FFF; font-weight: bold;} </style>
    <table class="tableizer-table"> <tr style="background-color: #104E8B; color: #FFF; font-weight: bold;"><th>MIN</th><th>FGM</th><th>FGA</th><th>FTM</th><th>FTA</th><th>3PM</th><th>3PA</th><th>OREB</th><th>DREB</th><th>REB</th><th>AST</th><th>STL</th><th>BLK</th><th>TO</th><th>PF</th><th>PTS</th><th>FG%</th><th>eFG%</th><th>TS%</th><th>GS</th><th>OnCourt</th><th>OffCourt</th></tr> <tr><td>35.6</td><td>3.3</td><td>11.1</td><td>3.3</td><td>3.9</td><td>1.4</td><td>4.9</td><td>0.8</td><td>5.4</td><td>6.1</td><td>7.0</td><td>2.0</td><td>0.3</td><td>3.1</td><td>2.4</td><td>11.1</td><td>29.2%</td><td>35.4%</td><td>43.4%</td><td>9.5</td><td>+9.9</td><td>0.0</td></tr></table>

Even with his shooting slump, the Rockets have been +9.9 with him on the floor, and actually they were never outscored in any of the past 8 games with him on the floor.

His Game Score (GS) rating of 9.5 is not very good (10 is considered average for a full time player). But to put it in perspective, even in Brooks' MIP season he had 8-game stretches at various points in the season with a Game Score rating less than that.

Anyway, hope he can turn it around soon. This season, the games just keep coming without any chance for these players to rest. Sucks.

Begins? The Abzorbaloff has been making the same kind of erroneous "analysis" forever now.

I'm fine with Lowry's shooting because I know, we all know it can be better, and plus the Rockets are still winning their games whether Kyle goes 3/14 or 7/16.

Dude, he's shooting .388 overall. Say what you want, but that is unacceptable in a starter, especially one who is starting to look like a chucker. That's rafer alston territory. His turnovers have gotten out of hand lately as well.

The worse part about his slump is he can't get easy hoops because he can't get by anyone off the dribblle. Overral, he's still playing positive ball, but he needs to get a easy bucket and get going. The rocketshave been playing some teams they should beat, but at some point they're going to need his point production.

Lowry's shot attempts are down as his percentages have fallen. And his teammates often don't do him favors. He creates open shots for others, but they rarely create good shots for him. In fact, I often see the shooting guards and Luis Scola (the guys who are supposed to be your scorers) throw the ball to him in desperation as the shot clock is winding down, forcing him to take a contested shot. But he doesn't complain, because that's the role he's been given.

Wow. He has a couple of bad games and now he should go to the bench. Hahahaha. When he bounces back everyone will be saying: franchise player/all star/untradeable/top 5 pg in the nba. Even without scoring, he has been able to be effective. He is getting a bunch of freethrows and finding the open man etc.

Sounds a lot like Aaron Brooks, but it is strange that I didn't see the same support for this argument.

As for Lowry - he indeed needs to pick up his shooting, clearly we have no other option so his starting job is safe.

I have to think he will probably end up at his career averages, which are slightly worse than last year but way better than where he is right now.

    38% FG and 35% 3pters......

He is just mired in a serious slump, similar to the one Budinger started out with last year - I wonder if the fact that he is not getting those back door layups that Adelman's system generated for the guy are at fault?

He still gets others great shots, but he is not great at getting his own shot, he doesn't have that stop and pop mid range game, it is 3pter or layup...that is his game....

He could use a little teaching from Calvin Murphy to learn that midrange stop and pop.....
