remeber posted, but still find it funny. From LA Times

Why did Chris Rock have to bring his comedy tour to L.A. during All-Star weekend? Couldn't make it out to any of the shows, but at least Yao Ming broke out some of his best material. When asked if he liked any American music, Yao said: "I like the national anthem. I listen to it at least 82 times a year."

I am glad someone said it! TNT really botched this game tonight. TERRIBLE production! In a game this fast with that kind of action you have to be very sure of when to play replays and such. We missed too many live plays because of that. Additionally there was one time where they filled the screen with a graphic and we missed LIVE game action. Another blunder. And finally enough with the interviews with the celebrities. If you want to grab ass with them during time-outs, fine. But when GAME ACTION is on shut your pie hole and let us watch the game!

TNT has a lot of work ahead of them for next year's All Star game to get things right.

Jeff, I agree! No way would I have thought that Yao would have pumped in 16pts tonight. I thought Yao played great tonight. He looked very relaxed and his turnaround jumper was money!

Correct me if I am wrong, but until tonight has Yao EVER been the recipiant of an ally-oop pass? He got one from Tim Duncan and one from Francis. And then Yao returns the favor and dishes one up for Francis. Awesome! I loved the fact that Francis was looking for Yao all night. Good teamwork!

I expected Shaq to "finish" the game last night but it was interesting to see Ray Allen in there for Francis. That to me says it all though. Why put in a turnover prone player in Francis when you can have a steady hand and rock solid shooter like Allen? Allen>Francis, no question.

I did find it interesting all night that Kobe played the PG spot and Francis the 2.

Overall, I felt the All Star game was awesome and VERY enjoyable. There were a TON of highlight real plays and at the same time there wasn't "matador" defense like in the Rookie/Soph game.

Very solid effort! In my opinion, there is no contest, the NBA All Star game is the VERY BEST of all the sports all star games!

One more thing, I know people are complaining about "minutes" and how some guys got screwed more than others in terms of minutes. Hey, no one got screwed except Brad Miller who left the game INJURED with a sprained ankle. I am sure the Kings fans would have preferred he got NO MINUTES rather than that!

Looking at the minutes, it appears that the minutes were pretty even for at least 10 players (it is tough to get 12 players all solid minutes, ususally there are 2 that get a lot less) but things got less even with the "bonus" minutes which came to certain players at the end of the game as both teams pretty much put their "best lineup" on the floor for the final 6 minutes or so. The lineups were

    WEST
    Shaq (instead of Yao)
    Duncan
    Garnett
    Allen (instead of Francis)
    Bryant

    EAST
    Martin (instead of Wallace)
    O'neal
    McGrady
    Iverson
    Kidd (instead of Carter)

Maybe because his reputation precedes him? The last thing the NBA wants is Steve dribbling out the clock!!

Solid performance from both of our guys. No injuries. Didn't play too many mininutes. What more could you ask for? Now come back and pick up where you left off with LA.:)

No. He earned more respect from both his teammates and opponents, i think.

Others were also willing to pass yao---KG 2 times, TD 1 assist, Dirk 1 times but failed,Kobe 1 times, also AK47 like Yao much...:)

Kobe didn't play the PG. He's just a goddam ballhog going after the MVP. Pathetic.

    Agreed.

TMac's self-dunk, TD's last shot, Shaq's dribble, Stevie's assists and Yao's fantastic pass to Stevie... made up of an enjoyable Basketball feast. That's sweet...:D

I agree. Kobe was the only one who actually didn't over-pass.

    I thought the same thing.

I do not remember Yao connecting on an alley-oop from Steve all year and they did it in the 1st minute of an All-star game!!

The Alley-oop from Yao to Steve was also the first, I'm sure.

Steve said it before the game that he'd make it his job to get Yao some shots. He sure held true to that.

Yao received an oop from SF in last year's ASG. That was the only two pts he got last year. :(
