the jealousy, the bias, and the hate are already there, it is impossible to alleviate the aforementioned by not voting for Lin. No matter Lin gets voted in or not, attacks will come. and the best way to shut up the noises is to have a win, instead of trying to please them. I voted for Lin and others.

I don't think the outcry will be for the fans. It's for the other players who deserved to be recognized for their play. I understand that it does not compare to winning a ring but one of the things that an NBA players desires is to be honored to play at the all star game. There was a year when Yao got all a lot of votes even though he was mostly injured that year. He respectfully rescinded the offer to play because he said that he did not deserve it.
