It's sick the so called "Rocket fans" don't vote for your men to the all star game. Unbelievable. You root for your team but you don't want your boys to showcase? Do us a flavour, don't claim yourself as an rocket fan.

I like this team a lot, but I use the criteria of "best players" rather than "players on a team I root for" to cast an all star ballot. Feel free to use whatever criteria you want, but there's no such thing as a "true fan."

You don't have any "real" universal criteria which EVERYONE ELSE MUST USE. Don't try to impose YOUR arbitrary criteria; don't be an all star vote nazi.

All star game is a joke. It used to be for showcasing the best players in the league but now its just a popularity contest.

There's no doubt that the game itself is a joke. It's basically unwatchable.

How do you know he doesn't want to be voted in? Did he tell you? I believe he said that it would be an honor for him to participate and it would be up to the fans.

For Lins sake hope he doesn't get in. It's just going to make it tougher on him due to jealous peers that will go even harder at him and fans who will taunt him even more on road games. Dude already has enough pressure.

We are not voting for mvps, just "star" players...just look at this forum and you should know who are the stars of the Houston Rockets... Good or bad. He's got my votes!

So what , if rocket players get in be it harden asik or lin or anybody rocket now. It shows that the Rockets have a big fan base. It's our chance to support our players. Hell yea, I will support them without any guilt. NO shame in it AT ALL.

Lin brings so much attention to the league its crazy. His game is heavily scrutinized. He brings a lot of money into the league. I just really hope his stats improve or he will feel even more pressure. At this point it's a given he will be voted in.

If there was a player that might be able to show Lin how to handle that, it would probably be Kobe Bryant. He has tons of fans but also haters. He was voted in as the youngest NBA player in a All-star game. The previous record was held by Magic Johnson. He got tons of hype when he was younger, but he had the talent and killer instinct, even caused drama with the star player on his team.

What Lin has currently shown throughout his career is that those criticisms or pre-judgements will need to be proven time and time again and frankly I think that pressure is what helps him succeed. Besides his race, he's still a starter, and people want that spot so they'll go at him just like Scott Machado thinks so.

As it should be. He got the hype in NY and NY is winning right now. Whether or not he wanted it, Knicks fans were divided over losing him. That's part of being in an extreme market and with people heavily doubting you and trying to prove it was just a fluke. On top of that, he came to a team where fans still care for 2 points guards no longer on the team and already have experienced the wave of YOFs.

I'm voting for Lin daily. HAHA, people getting their panties all in a bunch. Popularity contests are great.

People still watch all-star game? Or even care? Talking about Yao's rookie year like anyone here is old enough to remember.

Voting for whoever I feel like, fck the NBA for basketball reasons.

    Hi all clutchfans,

It's your vote, so please vote it the way you want to.

What I dislike are people trying to convince other people how they should be voting. This is really silly, if you respect that people have a right to vote - please stop trying to convince others to vote the way you want (you are in fact trying to influence and impact on that person's right to vote).

If you think it's not good to vote a particular player - that's your right, go ahead and don't vote the player but it does not mean you have the right to tell others not to vote for that particular player.

For those who think you have "good intentions" - please desist. Stop trying to impinge your opinion upon others, please have confidence that your fellow Clutchfans have brains of their own and would be able to have and form their own opinions on the matter at hand.

Happy voting and hopefully the outcome would be great for the Rockets! Cheers!

I don't think it's something kobe or anyone can show Lin. He just needs to play a lot better. Putting him in the all star will game will just make the overrated chant by opposing fans even louder and pgs come at him even harder. He needs to attack them as hard as they going to attack him. Like when he played against Derrick Rose last year I thought he did a good job of holding his own.

If not show, at least provide some advice or someone that had a similar stage. Everywhere Lin has gone, he's had people that helped him deal with these type of situations. At Harvard, when he was upset over the racial heckling, his Black assistant coach was the one that helped him deal with it and gave him advice since he too had to deal with prejudice fans.

Pressure is one thing, but having a teammate or someone to talk too seems like a big thing for Lin. But he has yet to have a teammate that has a similar pattern to Lin, in terms of hype and addressing the media.
