He progressed, just didn't do a break out. If he makes the same progress that would be okay, but I think with addition of SS at his back there is a possibility that he will do even better this year. Another reason that Yao may progress more in year 4 is that JVG has learned how to use him more effectively. If his performance in the playoffs is indicative he may progress to more than a 20/10 player. There is still only one ball and with new players it is difficult to exactly predict what will happen, but it is normal to expect him to breakout this year or next (between 3 and 5 years).

Totally agree. Nobody can defend a TMac/Yao pnr with a couple of good spot up shooters. With TMac driving around Yao's massive pick, the defense has to trap or Tracy will burn you all night long. That'll leave Yao open for a midrange jumper or rolling to the hole. If the defense rotate to cover Yao, someone is wide open on the perimeter.

The key is that TMac's decision making is great. He would either score or dish to the right guy at the right time. What made the Stockton/Malone pnr so effective was Stockton's decision making. Our duo can surpass that because of TMac's quickness and Yao's shooting touch and size.
