Texx, let's make a bet. If Texas gets passed in the polls by either TCU or Cinci, I'll stop posting here forever. If Texas doesn't, you'll stop.

Bigtexxx- I already pointed to a case study of the 2007 LSU to somewhat prove a point, but I will give you this- I am at least a bit curious (concerned??) about how voters will see the outcome of the Texas game. Am I just a bit paranoid? Maybe. I should probably take solace in the fact that TCU just has one game left against a one win opponent- hard to impress anyone with that unless they break 100 pts on New Mexico. Plus, Texas will have one final chance to impress vs. Nebraska.

One thing I found pretty interesting is that Brad Edwards (the ESPN BCS guru) was on the radio yesterday talking about who would go to the BCS title game if there was "armageddon" these last few weeks. Edwards wasn't even sure the voters would be willing to put TCU in ahead of a 1 loss Bama or Florida! So while to many fans and bloggers, TCU is earning respect, it will still need the "respect" of coaches and Harris poll voters.

Finally, here is my biggest beef about the TCU argument. Why does TCU only get compared to Texas? Why not compare them to Florida or Bama? Seriously, who has Florida beaten this season? I'm not being sarcastic at all- look at their schedule. Florida has beaten one ranked team all season, just like Texas. Their out of conference schedule isn't all that, although I'm sure FSU used to be something good. So, why all the ire pointed at Texas by the media? Are they just trying to protect the Golden Boy Tebow? Is that National Championship from LAST season playing into how Florida is perceived? These are valid questions, as well....

TCU vs. Texas- who is better? How the hell should we know?? I'll take Texas, but people have every right to take TCU. It doesn't bother me. I'm just siding with my team with good reason, just as those who take TCU would do the same.

 

I wonder if CF took a poll on whether on now to ban you for the good of the board, how you would fare.


In 2005, AtM had a worse record and the 05 Longhorns played worse against them. That didn't seem to matter much

Knock Texas all you want, but Who did TCU play in non-conference? NOBODY. They scheduled a freaking Division II team in Texas State.

i agree. thankfully the team had the internet message board posts of you, Brandon2101, and Longhornfan to pull them through as y'all continued to gallantly fight for victory. i wish to be regaled by further tales of the herculean efforts, which were clearly far beyond merely watching the game, y'all put forth to ensure this aggie vanquishing. please be detailed, that your amazing fandom come through all the more gloriously.

 

I would love to see a Texas vs. TCU game; that would be a good one. I would pick TCU by a point or two. I honestly think TCU might be the best team in the nation. I doubt they will get to prove it, though.

 

I seem to remember bigtexxx being the only one predicting an Oklahoma vs Florida BCS Championship game last year. He ended up being right.

 

You remember wrong. Once Texas lost to Tech, lots of people here were predicting Texas would have major problems jumping back above OU.

 

I appreciate it, that was my first ever a&m vs. ut game to go to and it was really fun...that kickoff return was a back breaker but just glad it was close and very entertaining

 

Then I stand corrected. I do remember him being called a troll for stating that though.

 

this alabama game is certainly showing that no heavily-favored undefeated team could ever struggle with an emotionally fired up underdog in a huge rivalry game.

It was offensive to self respecting sports fans. You wrote off "your team" even when they had the freaking lead. An undefeated team deserves better. To those of us that graduated from UT or who have been fans for years, seeing you call yourself a longhorn and then dump the team like that makes us all look bad. You just fuel all "t-shirt fan" garbage.

If you were a real fan you would get that and try to atone for your mistake but you're a tard that probably wouldn't even care about they team if they were 6-6.
