Try again. That Beasley hit was legal too, but unfortunately they were hurt. Not all injuries come from illegal hits. If you don't remember, Colt first sustained that "stinger" injury in the Kansas State game prior to that A&M game in 2006. Stinger is an injury to the nerves and should never be taken lightly. Colt got reinjured in the A&M and you call him a pu$$y?

    Don't be a sore loser.

The Ohio game was close, we had to come from behind against OK State, and barely beat ATM.

I agree 100% with what you said, but I think you missed the point.

The point is, by calling Colt "Cart", I'm not being classless, considering the fact that he wasn't seriously hurt (a stinger, while serious to me and you, isn't exactly quite "the injury" in the football world), it's all in good fun, but idiots like F4P and other tshirt fans who don't understand what a college rivalry is (because they didn't attend college) and that all the back and forth fooling around is just part of the fun that makes a college rivalry what it is.

i had no problem with that part of the quote and i'm pretty sure you knew that.

ahh, well at least you admit you like the injury-themed nickname while of course being too classy to want to see anyone get injured. i guess i fail to see the humor in a college athlete getting carted off the field.

i'm guessing i post more when we lose than when we win. granted, that happens so infrequently it's hard to say.

F4P didn't attend UT? That makes sense. T-Shirt fan dumped The Longhorns in the beginning of the 4th quarter while they were winning.

That being said, you can be a great fan without attending a university. There are a bunch of people that were never fans of a school until they start going there. Some people like a team from when they were kids.

You may have gone to UT, but that makes it even worse that you give up too easily. No teams blow out their opponent every week, and things aren't always a cakewalk.

Imagine what would happen if our players had the same attitude you have... they wouldn't win as much. Don't mean to just pick on you, because obviously there are a ton of 'fans' out there that give up. I just can't stand those types of people, and I wouldn't want them on my team or working with me or in a war, etc etc.

Speaking of distortions, meanwhile at Rice:
    • AD leaves after 3 years
    • head football coach left after 1 season
    • long-time basketball coach, fan favorite, gone
    • Provost stepping down
    • alums unhappy about being locked out of new rec center
    • faculty, grads, staff unhappy about new rec center membership dues
    • undergrads, grads, staff locked out of President's address to university
    • Dean of Humanities gone
    • long-time Dean of Social Sciences stepped down
    • Dean of Architecture, gone
    • revolving door of VPs
    • revolving door of directors
    • revolving door of employees
    • one year later, re: potential merger with Baylor, undecided
    • new collaboration research building, practically empty, un-leased
    • Alberto Sanchez, alum

The game last night clearly took UT-Austin down a notch in the minds of many college football aficionados, and opened up that question of whether TCU or even Cincinnati belong in the BCS title game as opposed to the team from the "name conference". The Big XII is weak this year, and UT-Austin's non conference schedule was a complete joke. Many are wondering, why do we just default to the Big XII champ in the BCS Title game? Why not the Mountain West champ? Why not the Big East Champ? These are very legitimate questions.

Very entertaining game and incredibly impressive performance from Jerrod Johnson, he had laser-like accuracy on some of those third and long's, on the run. wow. On the other hand, I looked forward all yesterday to coming to this thread to watch folks like bigtexxx declare a series of supreme moral victories.

    WISH GRANTED

Sam, I'm happy to make your Thanksgiving dreams come true, but I hardly declared any moral victories in this thread. I raised some legitimate questions about whether we stop letting the "name conferences" skate by on name alone, or whether we start to look hard at a TCU or a Cincinnati on the big stage.

which you would not be claiming, if not for the MORAL VICTORY of a close game. Allowing you to reap more MORAL VICTORIES by "rais[ing] questions" - indeed, the snowball of the bigtexxx MORAL VICTORY TOUR is rolling downhill....

Anyone care to take a trip down memory lane with me to a little something I call 2007? Join me as we revisit such games as LSU-Kentucky (Kentucky won 43-37,) LSU-Alabama (LSU gave up 34 points in a win), and, my personal favorite, LSU-Arkansas. (LSU gave up 50 points in a loss at home.)

What does this have to do with anything? Simple- LSU, 2007 National Champs. Seems that they gave up a few points here and there, no? Any tarnished legacy involved? Not so much.....

Bottom line- every team gets tested at some point in a season. Florida is lucky to escape Arkansas this season. Bama was lucky to escape Tennessee. TCU was lucky to escape Air Force. People choose to "remember" what best supports their cause.

I agree- Texas defense looked horrible last night. Did the short week hurt both defenses? Perhaps. But give the Aggies credit- their offense was fantastic, and Jerrod Johnson and his receivers made some excellent plays to score and keep the chains moving. However, Colt McCoy would not let his team lose. Texas is unlikely to play an offense that good the rest of the season. But the defenses will be much better. We'll see how they adjust. Unfortunately, no one knows who is better between TCU, Texas,Cincy, and those SEC teams. Hell, even Boise. And no, the mutual opponents comparison is full of fallacies. We'll have to see how bowl matchups shake out.

Except that it didn't, as you'll see in the polls on Monday and the discussions by all the analysts over the next week. You're the only one who's mind was "changed", but that's of course because it was already that way before and you just wanted to pretend that game changed it so you could regurgitate more of your nonsense.

    Are you speaking to yourself?

By the way, the facts all agree with me. Very few people anywhere are suggesting TCU go over Texas. This is reflected both in the polls and in the analysts.

    UT has been pretty impressive.

Only way I wouldnt want them in the title game is if Bama/UF play an epic game next weekend than I would want want a rematch....

Hey, Trolly McTroll-a-lot, where was this tough talk when TCU squeaked by 7-5 Air Force 20-17? And where were you when Cincinnati barely beat a 5-5 Connecticut team AT HOME 47-45?

These are also very legitimate questions.
