he was saying the 2005 team struggled against a&m even worse than this one, which is probably true, though i don't remember being quite as worried even though i think a&m had goal to go down 8 in the 4th. maybe i wasn't so worried because we had vince and the cosmos weren't going to let him lose a football game.

When the Aggies watch the film they are going to be kicking themselves; this was a very winnable game. They let a HUGE upset slip away: poor tackling, mental lapses, turnovers, and some brain dead play calling. Their QB looked all world; has he played all year? Good grief, it was VY, Jr. out there! Texas is lucky to walk away the victors.

btw, any word on him? I was really worried about him and especially after I saw his poor dad come down to check on him. You never want to see anything like that happen on the field :(

The 2005 team was losing at A&M at halftime, and was up by 5 going into the 4th quarter. Vince Young had a pretty bad game, which a lot of people think cost him any shot at the Heisman.

epic, edge of the seat game. great entertainment for a thanksgiving evening with friends and family ...

great showing by both the horns and the ags. Clearly there were a few mistakes on both sides, but overall just amazing offensive execution by both teams.

there was no way vince was winning the heisman after bush's fresno game, which wasn't even as impressive as vince's osu game earlier in the year. vince whipped reggie all year long and then the fresno game happened and it cinched it for bush. and not just cinched it, but ridiculously gave him a blowout victory. so many people said, well if they waited until after the bowls, then it would have gone to vince, as if the bowl is what pushed vince over reggie and it wasn't just that everybody had willfully ignored his superiority the whole damn season. we got the last laugh, but that trophy should have been ours/vince's.

I think they showed him smiling on the sideline in street clothes at the end of the game; at least I hope that was him. I agree, a real show of class during the injury timeout. Hey, it is the STATE OF TEXAS, where class happens.

TAMU exposed VY that game. Kind of showed USC how to contain Vince. Except apparently no one paid attention... TAMU had a decent D-line then too. I am glad this thing is back to Thanksgiving day. Should be fun.

I don't know how people think this defense has been "exposed" when they didn't flat out compete half the game.

What game were you watching? We didn't compete cause Mushchamp looked scared of Johnson taking off for the run like Colt was doing. How many blitzes did you witness tonight versus our other games this year? I counted three, and we got burned on two.

We WERE exposed. Our special teams still look like crap. A&M worried me more than Nebraska as they actually have a great offense, as you witnessed tonight.

people are giving the aggies waaaayyy too much credit here. these are the same jackasses that have been using the cart mccoy nickname (some in this thread) going on 4 seasons now after using cheap shots to knock him out of a game. that they showed some class this time is the exception, not the rule.

    from earlier in the thread:

yes, the empathy is just jumping off the page. granted, PointForward is your typical "extremely aggie" aggie, but if texags has taught us anything, it's that he's not that extreme.

I don't think we were exposed as much as A&M just played a really solid game. Johnson had a good game but I was more impressed with the hands on some of their WRs. They made some great catches in traffic.

Didn't you give up on the Longhorns in the third quarter? You should have stayed out of this thread after that. To come back and brag after that is quite embarrassing for those of us who stick with our team.

nope, tv tuned to the game from kickoff to final whistle.

who was bragging? i was just pointing out the hypocrisy of a fanbase that wants to be looked upon as classy, but a large faction of which has no problem making fun of a player's injury through a "clever" nickname. if PointForward were alone, that would be one thing, but so many think cart mccoy is perfectly acceptable. of course they also called vince "radio" (possibly racist on top of making fun of mentally handicapped people) so what can you expect?

I ignore it for the most part. I just look at the scoreboard. There are classless fans on both sides of every college football rivalry, but it doesn't really bother me. I sure as hell don't give up on my team in the 3rd quarter though.

You sir, are an idiot. "knocking the piss out of ___" is a reference to Texans Safety Bernard Pollard. It doesn't suggest that I want to see anyone get seriously hurt, but a hard, legal, "football" hit is one of the best things to look forward to in a football game. Also: Colt McCoy earned the name "Cart" after he was sacked LEGALLY and had to be carted off the field to what was later diagnosed as a "stinger", something a non-pu$$y football player should be able to shake off quickly.

you're a classless deush trying to start something, had the horns lost this game you would've taken off that burnt orange shirt and completely ignored this thread..
