At least Francis did better than Mike Bibby.

    Thank God!

It seems most of the votes for MVP, rookie of the year and all-nba are based strongly on the teams performance... which sux

Ah, that makes a little more sense. I didn't notice that they put Marbury at SG, but I still don't think Nash should be up there. He has a PG's dream w/ spot up shooters who can hit almost anything.

Imagine Jason Kidd on the Mav's...

I think here are a few factors...the pg position is arguably the deepest in the NBA...the 5 spot is undoubtedly the weakest. Yao also seemed to be the biggest diference between this year's team and last year's. The bloom is also off the rose with Steve; the honeymoon period is over, and people are becoming aware of his obvious weaknesses to go with his obvious strengths. Yao has had an unusual honeymoon perdiod; the weaknesses were probably discussed more and earlier than with most rookies due to the attention, but he is still given the benefit of the doubt by most when it comes to future improvement, whereas with Steve many are beginning to wonder if this is about it.

Agreed but what's the criterias of the voting? J. O'neal is PF and Brad Miller is the centre of the pacers.

One of the Phoenix beat writers voted Marbury on the first team.

    Vlade Divac?

Mobley should have gotten at least 1 vote then...

What is Jermaine doing listed as a "center" anyway?

Many are wondering if Steve will improve ? You are the first Ive heard to sing that song..But then...you are also the !st to suggest trading Steve for Richard Jefferson.

Yao could easily replace Mash, and slot Jermaine to his usual forward position. Yao only lost to Mash 55 to 63 votes...

If the Rocks had made the playoffs, Yao would than be a ROY and in the NBA third team ;) (basically repeating what I said in another thread)

    -G'day-

Then how come we can't come up with a decent PG?

Ming should be in the third team for center over Brad Miller. The reason some guys lists as multiple position is that they get more consideration for their versatility. Like Tmac, KG, J-O'neal.

It's not Centers vs. PGs or SGs here. If that's the case, you wouldn't see Kobe & TMac both on the first team. PGs don't get voted to the All NBA team as PGs, just as guards. So Francis has twice as many players to compete with.

maybe the fact that Yao got more votes will tigger something in SF's head and he'll finally get his act together...

Exactly my sentiments. Good point, cabeza de disco.;)

On the same topic, note that ALL OF THE TEAMS with first, second, and third team players are/were in the playoffs.

Amare has ONLY 2 votes and that's negative?

He is splitting votes with Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett, Chris Webber, Dirk Nowitzki, Paul Pierce, Jamal Mashburn, Shawn Marion, Elton Brand, Rasheed Wallace, Antoine Walker, Kenyon Martin and many many more top notch forwards.

Yao has what? Shaq, Wallace, JO, Divac, Brad Miller, Z?
