good pick. i was gave him some consideration but thought he got into foul trouble too easily. he's gonna be a defensive monster though once he can maintain that intensity without fouling so much.
Thank you I gave Kaman and Cousins consideration because they are superior offensively, but I lack low post defense and rebounding so Jordan evened my team out there.
Disagree. http://www.blazersedge.com/2009/12/8/1190861/patella-injuries-in-nba-history Butler had a torn patellar tendon. According to the link above, Cedric Ceballos, Antonio McDyess, Glen Rice, Damon Stoudamire, and Alonzo Mourning all had torn or partially torn patellar tendons. None were reasonably healthy the following season (some had mitigating circumstances (i.e. age, prior knee injuries)). Most were able to regain their old form after 2 seasons. I had considered drafting Butler and dismissed it due to the severity of the injury. It would be one thing if he came back and played reasonably well at the end of the season. But his injury forced him to miss about 50 games plus the entire playoffs. I think you should draft a replacement for Butler. That's the fair thing to do.
I have in faith in Caron. Personally, I believe its good that he's missed 50 games and the playoffs as he has had a lot of time to recover before the beginning of next season. I am probably gonna get a backup SF later anyway. It's my fault for picking someone who is coming off an injury I guess. You probably killed Butler's trade value for me haha
Jesus Caron is such a beast, so much respect for him now. Shoves his knee cap in place and walks off, like a Frucking BOSS.
Kyle Lowry Manu Ginobli Lamarcus Aldridge DeAndre Jordan This is a pretty interesting team that could be really dangerous if you get a good forward. Very nice length inside. Perimeter playmaking. Two good rebounders. Two good three point shooters. Can run. Can play defense. I like this team
I just really can't part with my 4th right now...I think the deal I offered was very fair - Parker and a 6th for Wallace and an 8th.
It's not about trade value. If the clutchfans population is going to be voting on the teams, it's only fair that they are aware that Butler is not at full strength. It doesn't matter if you have faith in him. History has shown that people who had the same kind of injury as him did not play well in their following season. I still think you should replace the Butler pick.
I don't think its fair for me to change my pick. It would seem like an abuse of power The injury is unpredictable. He has had a lot of rehab time. I guess it would be like getting Yao for a draft for the past coupla years. You don't know what you'll get which is annoying for a format like this.
It's not unpredictable. I gave you the list of players who have sustained the same type of injury. None of them played well the following year. There's nothing wrong with you changing your selection in this instance. Only 2 people have selected after you and they picked PF/C's. If you insist on keeping Butler, all the participants should agree as to his level of effectiveness. I don't think he'll be close to all-star caliber. He should be considered more of a role player like Richard Jefferson.
