What's Deng going to do again parsons? He can't shoot over him or get by him. My average at best center won't have to do much against your offensively challeged center. Your best bet of winning would be with josh smith and even then the manimal isn't a pushover. Not to mention my bench is superior to yours. Danny green is a nice 43% shooter from downtown who can defend from 1-3 and defended ellis to 4-11 shooting in the fourth after already scoring 30 against his teammates. perkins is my late game defender and rebounder. Paul with derozan, faried, and parsons running the break would be insane since they all run the floor very well and the defense wouldn't suffer as much.
I went with Phoenix. Ginobili is the only other player on that roster who can run the point when CP3 is out, and he can only play like 25 minutes. Phoenix is more balanced, has a good defensive frontcourt, with plenty of scoring and shooting options. The frontcourt will help stifle CP3 when he gets into the paint. Paul can't do everything.

He's pretty decent defensively and he does need more improvement. I don't really need him to shut smith down, just make him work for his shot. have you ever played in or watched a basketball game? i'm just saying you don't need a strategy to beat someone in a one on one situation. all you need is for them to bite on a pumpfake, bite on a pass, bite on a jab step etc. parsons isn't flawless, he isn't just going to shut down deng like you're suggesting on every possession. parsons is a good defender, so he'll make it a bit more difficult for deng to score than usual. he'll just be an opportunistic scorer and an above average defender, which is what his role is on my team. just agree to disagree, accept that you won, and move on.
