What the hell? LOL you guys have to be trolling. Jennings is one of the most inefficient scoring guards in the entire league. Do you realize how many shots the guy takes???? On top of that, he is notorious for being one of the worst defensive players. Even Gerald Henderson dropped 30 on him. Jennings is trash. I wouldn't draft him in the 8th round. Still many, many better point guards at this stage. His usage rate is in the highest tier possible which means he is only going to take shots away from the rest of the team. If he was actually an efficient player this wouldn't matter as much, but the fact of the matter is he is far from it. I honestly think he is one of the worst point guards in the NBA. You want to compare him to Kyrie Irving? LOLOLOL
Where to begin... First off, his usage rate was 25.9, on which his TSP was .514. Compare that to Kyrie's usage rate of 28.7, on which his TSP was .517. Ill let that sink in for a second. Secondly, Jennings averaged 2.2 TOPG, compared to Irving's 3.1. I know you have a man crush on Irving and all, but the stats dont lie. You can choose to ignore them if you want.
Nope. Westbrook has 23ppg on .457 that is really good. Irving scores 18.5ppg on .469 That is insanely efficient for a point guard. If he was given as many shots as Westbrook, his output would be higher. Just as we could presume Westbrook's efficiency would go up with less shots. Jennings shoots .418. That is worse than abysmal. 19 points ON 17 SHOTS PER GAME. TROLOLOLOLO
USG% -- Usage Percentage; an estimate of the percentage of team plays used by a player while he was on the floor. So, as you can see, Irving had the ball in his hands more than Jennings did. Their TS% is almost identical, and Irving averaged almost a turnover more per game. What exactly is your point?
Do you know how you find USG%? Number of times player either gets to the free throw line, shoots the ball or turns the ball over. If you knew that, why do you keep mentioning turnovers as a sidenote? It all factors into the equation. It is immaterial to compare the two rates (which you are attempting to do), as they reside in the same usage tier. However, they got there in different ways. Irving turns the ball over quite a bit, hence his spike in usage rate. Fortunately for me, he is teamed with two elite ball handlers and passers in James and Manu, allowing him to play the role of a shooter/scorer as well as a point guard ala Chalmers. Since he shoots .400 from three, he is a pretty lethal option here. Brandon Jennings on the other hand, shoots 6 threes a game and takes around 17 shots every time he steps on the court. Jennings has been abused defensively by virtually every guard in the NBA. When two players score around the same, but one shoots .469 and the other shoots .418, it puzzles me as to how you can support the latter through statistics. It is laughable. Just look in front of you. Honestly I'm not quite sure what Jennings actually does well in the NBA.
