Bisexual means me, my guy, and one of my hot blonde/brunette/redheaded friends... or two.

I'm sort of a... 'take it as it comes' type of girl.

It's funny you should post this thread at the same time the remake of the classic children's book, Peter Pan, is on the big screen. I took a friend's son to see it today because I had enjoyed the picture book as a child. However, I had forgotten just how much the story has to say about the mixed emotions of a child maturing into and adult.

The short jist is: growing up sucks but the one redeeming factor in adulthood is the capacity to love; the love of a man and a woman and the love of a parent for a child. Soyou see, my friend Peter ima_drummer2k Pan, while but scarificed it for the capacity to love.

I highly recommend the movie, even if you have to drag along a little snot nose to see it so people don't think your a perv.

Geez, I Lost a line of my sappy sentiment in editing
(I want my edit function bacK!)

Anyway it was supposed to say: While your friends seem to have lost the joy of youth, they have just sacrificed it for the capacity to love.

Here's the thing on the marrige question:

There is a great deal of comfort in the commitment of marrige; knowing that you have unconditional love and acceptance buffers the slings and arrows of life. The problem is risk of betrayal. You invest so much into loving a fallible human being ( not to mention your own fallibility) that the pain of failure is so devestating and so probable. I guess the answer is really knowing the other person and yourself before you commit to marrige, really trusting the commitment.

(dam I'll be glad when the holidays are over and I can go back to being a crumudgeon)

I get it, Geno. The other hard thing about marraige is finding a SANE woman to marry. That's really the only thing holding me back at the moment...

I never really went out when I was younger, either. I've always been something of a homebody. When I became a father at 17 and got married at age 18, the married life itself was no problem. Considering that I practically lived by myself and took care of myself to a great degree since I was about 13 years-old (my parents worked very long hours. I could go weeks without seeing them even when I was living with them), moving out and taking care of my own place, etc. was not that different.

My life is probably wilder now than it was back when I was 'colleged-aged', but that's not saying all that much.

One of the problems for old farts such as ourselves, is that as we get older the pool of available women get smaller. Also, the older we get the more baggage we acquire. I'm mostly referencing the women out there.

Good luck finding a single girl who has never been married, doesn't have a kid, or is a complete pyscho. They are out there, at least that is what gives me hope.

That's why every year, I have to expand my acceptable age dating bracket to include younger women. Right now my bracket is 25-29. I recently added the 29 yr olds due to lack of choice.

My understanding is that there aren't enough women to go around anyway. Though overall there are more women living in the United States than men, that's because men die sooner, on average, than women. In the 20-34 age group, though, there are more men than women (I thought the stat was like 119 men for every 100 women in that age group).

So that lowers the potential number of mates. Add to that rich guys who get the younger women, and it can look bleak... unless you're a rich older guy, of course.

I will pay you large sums of money to teach my wife your wonderful views of sex. You can even show her how it is done. I am also willing to make educational videos for future reference. Also when your boyfriend ****cans you for someone that will give him puppies you can promptly move in with us.

That is very important. I made the mistake of marrying the h/s sweetheart who turned out to be action-packed with issues. I'm just glad we didn't have any kids. But I'm married now to a wonderful woman who really takes care of me and is not only the mother of my children, but my best friend as well. So don't make the same mistake I did.

Don't feel strange about this gs1998. Having kids should be a choice, not something you have to do. If you and your S.O. have a happy and fulfilled life, you shouldn't feel like you have to have kids just to meet other people's expectations.

My wife and I got married 7 years ago when I was 23. Getting married really isn't a big deal, especially if you already live with the person and know that they are the one for you. Now having kids? That is a big deal and will turn your life upside down.

As far as the S.O. changing their minds, my wife tells me that one of her friends married a guy who told her: "Ok, I'd like to marry you, but I have to tell you upfront - I don't want kids and will never want kids. If you're not ok with that, don't marry me."

I think there are more and more child-free couples around these days, and I certainly enjoy the freedom (financial, recreational, life) it offers.

However, if you do end up getting pregnant, don't worry about it - your body tends to pump out enough hormones that you end up liking the idea.

I know several people who also have no desire to have kids, and I don't think it's strange or abnormal at all. Different people have different desires and different goals.

And there are people who's opinions towards kids changes over time. When I was younger, I wanted to have a lot of kids, at least four (probably to make up for the fact that I was, for all intents and purposes, an only child. Though now I have a half-sister and two half-brothers, but I've not ever lived in the same house with any of them, and the half-brothers don't even know I exist). Now I feel like the two I have is plenty, and I have very little desire to go through all that baby stuff again. It was fine and fun at the time, but when I think about having to go through it all again, it doesn't appeal to me. And, in a way, I feel like I already did that, and now I'm enjoying being a parent to older kids.

I can personally attest that she has done it with a woman, and a guy, at the same time. She's crazy. Last New Year's I saw her making out with another girl. That was hot.

And, yes, she is a big Astros and Rockets fan.

gs1998, for age verification purposes, we need to ask you to post some pictures of yourself in this thread.

    Thank you.
