Whatever. It's an Internet message board. I'm not writing a PhD paper. For what its worth, I'm not even sure I've made whatever arguments about race that you're projecting onto me. I have, however, pointed out that there are a lot of Lin fans that are frustrated. I think that's a pretty fair assessment of the situation.
dude you've been here for 3 months. i'm not gonna read through 10 pages to find some message you can't just tell me now. i get you're excited that you're a poster here (though it seems that many more aren't excited as excited of your presence as you are), but I don't have time. if you got something to say, say it.
Well I think it's a fair assessment, to assess, that there are an equal if not more, amount of fans that are frustrated at the Lin fans. think of that?
That's it. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/zjZwi_PJiio" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
I'm just point out that what you wrote (quite passionately, I might add) and pgabriel's thread are exact opposites. i.e. there is no law requiring someone to like a player.
another pointless thread about Lin- This is not a Asian Vs. Non Asian thing at all. Look, HES A GOOD PG. He had a great month last year that put his name in lights, but the point remains the same.... If your team has a player like , Lebron, Howard, (YES) James Harden, Carmelo Anthony, or even Kobe Bryant... It automatically makes someone like Jeremy Lin the 2nd or 3rd option offensively. That's just life in the NBA. Its a star driven league, and if you have ever played the game of basketball you will know... the best player on the court should have the ball in crunch time. THAT IS JAMES HARDEN. NOT LIN. So either you root for the team or you dont. But dont just root for Lin, and then complain about THE TEAM. It doesn't work that way. Nothing is wrong with Jeremy Lin..... NOTHING. He's doing a good job. However, he's not the best player on this team. So all the LOF'ers just need to stop getting their panty's in a wad. At least he's a good player and not Yi Jianlian. He's going to be a key part of this team. So chill the F out. If the Asian's are upset about not seeing an all Asian superstar team in the NBA, then they are watching the wrong league. Its an equal opportunity league. The best players get the minutes at the end of the day, and its a good thing that's the case.
just as there is no law that a professional sports team can exploit a one hit wonder player & his/her fan-base for millions of dollars, but still not have to play him/her when the game is on the line? touche.
no, we condemn people who wish injury upon others, because sometimes they transpire and actually do. and when they do, there are punishments. you're really trying to split hairs around here, aren't ya?
Asian fans should stop overrating Jeremy Lin so they won't get disappointed when he performs poorly. While I do think he has been underutilized, he has had opportunities to perform and impress. Overall, he has been a disappointment but the season, and his career, is still young.
Lin's not worth anything approaching 8 1/2 - yr against the cap (Les) and hamstrings our Rockets. It's not Jeremy's fault. But his signing signaled no rebuild via the draft, no Dragic at 6 1/2, and being locked into a middle tier playoff team at best....NOT title contention. All about the $$$$$$.
Why would Rockets fans care about Lin fans? Not really, I don't see that we're on TNT every week like when we had Yao and Tmac.
Sorry, you are wrong here. Lin fans want Lin to do well. Real Rockets fans want Lin to do well, too. Your question implies that you are one or the other, which is silly. There may be very few fans who ONLY care about how Lin does individually, but you are overstating this, by far. There were many Yao fans who came to the Rockets (and this message board) because they were Yao fans first, and now they are Rockets fans. Stop antagonizing Lin fans for no reason than pursuing a schtick. You are an enthusiastic Rockets fan, but you are not making things better, but worse.
