I'll go with the following 15-man All-Decade Team, with the caveat that longevity is factored in along with brilliance while a Rocket (hence, Artest doesn't make the first team): First Team: Steve Francis Tracy McGrady Shane Battier Luis Scola Yao Ming Second Team: Aaron Brooks Cuttino Mobley Ron Artest Carl Landry Dikembe Mutombo Third Team: Rafer Alston Kevin Martin Jim Jackson Kenny Thomas Chuck Hayes Honorable Mention: David Wesley, Bob Sura, Juwan Howard, Kyle Lowry Also, no offense to the OP, but it looks like you never watched a Rockets game before the McGrady trade. Could just be a coincidence, though. But no way Francis, Mobley and perhaps even Jackson don't make it onto an All-Decade Team SOMEWHERE.
Steve Francis (02) Kevin Martin (10) Tracy Mcgrady (05) Luis Scola (10) Yao Ming (08) and only 3 backups Kyle Lowry (10) Ron Artest (09) Chuck Hayes (10) bam! No one can beat this. This is a championship rotation
HTML: Lowy, Artest, Battier, Hayes, and Deke. Coach : JVG SF3, Martin, TMac, Scola, Yao Coach : Adelman Which team will win?
I think Batum was traded draft night? I'm liking Terrance Williams though. If someone in our organization can get him focused fully on improving his basketball skillset, he could be a top 20 player in this league. He has loads more potential than Batum. Of course potential is a french word meaning you ain't done **** yet.
I'll take '09 Brooks over Kyle Lowry then would probably start Brooks over Francis. We talk about his lack of play-making ability, but who created the majority of ABs league-leading 209 3 pointers at 40% no less? And he's clutch! SMH at the Lowry lovers. He's an expensive back-up or hot trade item.
of course but we also need defense, and I'd rather have defense + decent offense > great offense + no defense
Kinda puts a damper on your ability to rationally put together an All-Decade Team, though, doesn't it. Probably not the greatest idea for someone to do so for a decade in which he only knows about 5 years. (It's all good, though. Interesting discussion.)
