I've been meaning to do this for sometime. Make a full roster of Houston players from 2000-2011. The rules are as followed: 1) No duplicate players.(You may use a player only once.) 2)Be year specific.(For instance, Tracy Mcgrady isn't valid, but '06 Tracy Mcgrady is.) 3) Player must have played in one game for Houston that season and/or playoffs. Okay, I hope I made that clear enough. Here's mine if you're interested C:Yao('08)/Deke('04) PF:Scola('10)/Landry('10)/Hayes('10)/Brian Cook('09) SF:Artest('08)/Battier('06) SG: McGrady('04)/Martin('10) PG: Lowry('10)/Brooks('09) Take a good look at this team, and all the possibilities. We have two elite defenders in Battier and Artest. we saw how this tandem shut guys down in '08. Now imagine how much better they'd be with a younger Battier. Looking at the two guard we have McGrady in his prime. 25 point per game, and an unstoppable offensive force. I put Lowry at point guard because I wanted to have Brooks and Marti nbench. We see how these two torch defenses. Now imagine the two of them going against 2nd units. The opposing team would never get a break, playing against both McGrady and Martin. Center was an obvious choice, Yao's best season, with ol' realible Deke backing him up. At the four I put Scola, I think he'd be a good fit because he doesn't require a lot of touches to be effective, and to be frank, until he came we didn't have anyone good enough to play power forward. I debated whether or not we really needed Landry, we probably don'tconsidering Martin and Brooks are coming off the bench, but it couldn't hurt. Then of course we have Hayes, we've all seen what he brings to the table; and Brian Cook. Why Cook? Every team needs a cheerleader. I think this team is the best because of it's versatility. If we need to score, we put McGrady at the 3, Martin at the 2, Brooks at the one, and Landry at the four. If we need defense, then Lowy, Artest, Battier, Hayes, and Deke. What do you think? What's your All Decade* team? *=Yes, yes, I know, it's eleven years.

I find it interesting that 7 of the 12 players on your list are currently on our roster. And that we're sitting at 5 games below .500 now. Just an observation. That said, I couldn't think of anyone better to replace anyone on that list, including Brian Cook. Good cheerleaders are hard to come by.
I thought that too. I was going to post "stopped reading after Brian Cook" but then scanned down to see if there was a reason. "every team needs a cheerleader" Well done, OP. Well done.
Steve Francis Tmac Ron Scola Yao Bench Brooks Martin Mobley Landry Deke Battier and the Barry bros, just for fun!
I'm assuming the # next to the player is the later part of the season in which they played, and if that's the case we didn't have McGrady until the 04/"05" season and Artest till the 08/"09" season... With that said this is mine: C: Yao('07)| Mutumbo('08) PF: Luis Scola('11)|Carl Landry('10) SF: Ron Artest('09)| Shane Battier('08) SG: Tracy McGrady('05)| Cuttino Mobley('02) PG: Steve Francis('02)| Kyle Lowry('11) Defense is the name of the game, we would have great size up front, and in the back court with Mcgrady and Francis. We would also have great wing defender's in Artest, Battier and Mobley. While still having a ton of fire power, with Mcgrady, Yao, Francis and Scola, with Artest being the 5th option...
If that many players of the all-decade team were on the current roster, they would be significantly better Yao Ming (06-07)/ Dikembe Mutombo (06-07)/ Kelvin Cato (03-04) Luis Scola (09-10)/ Carl Landry (09-10)/ Chuck Hayes (09-10) Ron Artest (08-09)/ Shane Battier (08-09)/ Jim Jackson (03-04) Tracy McGrady (04-05)/ Cuttino Mobley (01-02)/ Kevin Martin (10-11) Aaron Brooks (09-10)/ Steve Francis (02-03)/ Bob Sura (04-05)
PG: Steve Francis (2003) SG: Tracy McGrady (2005) SF: Shane Battier (2007) PF: Luis Scola (2010) C: Yao Ming (2007)
PG: Steve Francis SG: Tracy McGrady SF: Nicholas Batum PF: Luis Scola C: Yao Ming (Batum was at one point a Rocket, if I'm not mistaken. Never played.)
C:Yao('07), Olajuwon('00), Deke ('08) PF:Scola('10), Landry('10), Hayes('10) SF:Battier('07), Artest('09), Jackson ('04) SG:Mcgrady('04), Martin('10), Mobley ('02) PG:Brooks('09), Francis('03), Lowry('10)
Sorry, I didn't read. You have a different year method than us. ('08) Alston would mean the Rafer that played during the 22 game win streak, not necessarily the whole 07-08 season.
