True story.... also he was penetrating and then going back out to the peremiter and still found open players right underneath the hoop with perfect passes. I didn't see the box score but I thought he had at least 5 assists.

Brooks is much closer to a SG than a PG, but we won't be able to play Brooks and Alston in the game at the same time very often unless the other team goes small like when the Suns had Nash and Bell in there.

is there any correlation between his awesome performance and being guarded by nash and the euro that came off the bench?

what if he was being defended by chris paul, deron williams or dwayne wade?

i think he might have more issues then

but he is quick as heck!!!

He's more a shooting guard than a PG. I don't think he's the player that can really create shots for other guys well just yet. He'll need to learn to be a better assisting PG.

You just spouted off 2 of the top PGs and one of the top combo guards in the league... Who wouldn't have troubles against them?

    Nice argument there jr.

i bet someone's already said this
    but i love this quote..

"then shaq came in, and that was my cue to get outta there." - aaron brooks

    :D

but yeah ab's been playin really well, quite impressive, i guess the 1 season of NBA experience and opportunity to play has helped

all i'm saying is that i worry that he can't duplicate this game consistenlty

i pray he can!!! he's the only player who's playing without fear and hesitation right now

AB is playing like we all hoped he would coming in to the leauge last year.

I hope he can keep it up all season & going into the playoffs! We will need that speed and spark off the bench!

Ab's confidence is growing and i think it's pushing alston to try to score more himself. I can't wait to get battier back so he can space out that first unite and have artest play with the second. We should have constant scoring with no long stretchs where we have ZERO points.

agreed... artest coming off the bench and being the focus of the offense for the 2nd unit will make him perform better i think

also... a brooks and artest combo coming off the bench will provide us with a 1-2 scoring punch!

    Correct. Two other points.

    1. He had at least 4 great passes that weren't converted. 2 to Barry (why is this guy immune to criticism. He has played horribly so far.)

    2. The way Brook creates he usually makes an outlet pass to someone at the 3 point line that more often than not swings it to another shooter. He may start the scoring play without getting the assist.

There is no doubt in my mind that the offense runs much more smoothly when AB is in the game. I do think he will not match up as well with certain point guards, but I still say he should be getting 30+ minutes a night.

I'd like to see Brooks and Scola playing together more. Of all our starters, Scola seems to grasp the cutting offense best. I've seen numerous times that Scola has come free on back screens and cuts only to be ignored by the slow reactions of others on the team. Both Barry and Brooks have the ability to hit him with the pass.

    Look at his game log...

    http://www.nba.com/playerfile/aaron_brooks/game_by_game_stats.html

Outside of the Clippers game where he barely got any minutes.....he's been our most consistent player........this isn't the first good game he had this season.

I guess Barry is immune because of Aaron Brooks. Barry reigns him in when he gets outta control. Besides, would you prefer Head!?

You guys can say whatever you want about his passing skills... but all I know is that I don't feel the least bit anxious when the shot clock hits 5 seconds and AB has the ball in his hands.

After 7 games, here are some Brooks stats:

    FG%: 48
    3PT%: 48
    FT%: 92

    12 ppg in 20 mpg

Considering how aggressive he plays and the degree of difficulty of some of his shots, those numbers are even more impressive.

Ah, those defensive demons Chris Paul and Deron Williams! I shudder just thinking of their lock down D on our PGs!

LOL I thought I was the only one........I actually like the shot clock ticking down and the ball ends up back in Brooks' hands, because I know that I'm going to see something exciting. It sure is a hellava lot better than that tired worn out "times running out in the quarter/game ISO Tmac jumper" go I hate that freaking play......it never works.
