Per RT: Terminator 100% Aliens 100% T2 - 98% Alien 97% Prometheus 73% Terminator 3 - 70% Alien Res. - 52% Alien3 - 42% Terminator Salvation 33% AVP - 22% AVP2 - 12% Personally, I think that skews high for Terminator, Terminator 3, and Alien Resurrection.....and skews low for Terminator Salvation. I'd rank them Aliens T2 Alien Terminator Prometheus Term.4 Alien 3 ...and pretend the other movies never happened.
I guess I should just eBay Alien and Aliens and forget about the other ones. Do Alien 3 and Alien Res. have any story line ties to Alien or Aliens that I may need to watch though?
Alien 3 has "storyline ties" to Aliens but you will wish it didn't. I actually liked Resurrection better than 3 for entertainment purpose even though the storyline sucked. In my mind, the Alien franchise ended with Aliens. I'd go : Aliens T2 Alien Terminator Prometheus (This is heavily starred by me. Enjoyed the film loved a lot of the plot elements, but overall I think they missed on A LOT) T: Salvation
Aliens is the best action film ever made. It has no equal. It's Cameron's finest moment. Every film he's made since has been worse than the one before it.
T2 without a doubt... Arnold at his best and Linda Hamilton beasted as Sarah Connor and Edward Furlong was great, all three worked together so well... I forgot the black guy's name but he was also great in that role...
Aliens - best mix of action, comedy and story T2 was great as well . .. just loses by the slice of too much Arny cheesey line-ism Rocket River
i thought the way they incorporated the "cheesey" lines was appropriate. it effectively illustrated the relationship progression between him and john conner. the only cringe worthy line was after he blasted the t-1000 into the fire pit. "i need uh vacation."
Yeah but he was a robot and John Conner was a kid teaching him what a kid would think is cool - so it worked. Also, Arnold can't act. He moves and sounds robotic, oh wait, he's playing a robot? Genius! Perfect actor for the part. Everything fell into place so beautifully with T2. Cameron found the one part Arnold could actually do and sold it. That's hard to do. Scorsesse did it with Marky Mark in Departed - it's no easy task.
Terminator by a long shot! I made the mistake of watching prometheus first before alien and that made me not appreciate alien one bit. I loved prometheus tho.
Isn't the t-800's metal strong enough to resist the acid? What type of battlefield are we talking here? If it is a closed room with no where to run/hide, I would say the 800 aliens would just overwhelm the terminator by numbers. If it's an open area though, with places to hide/camp out. I'd say the Terminator goes to a high-point quicker and starts picking off the aliens one by one. Not to mention, his accuracy would mean that he will always be on target and he can aim for the aliens heads for the quick kill.
I was going to mention the Abyss, too. Still not sure I could rate the three, though. Terminator vs. Aliens vs. Abyss. I'd watch any of them countless times.
