We got wing and PG depth for a couple of second round picks. I can see Shved getting significant PT both at 1 and 2 with CB at 2 and 3.
Perimeter guys, who can find a way to score, without being set up or making it look like a prayer was answered: Harden Shved Canaan Pap(Maybe) And shved can pass too.....we had too many players on the perimeter playing very limited roles. Harden used to be the only one who could handle the ball, score, and pass. Now, we have Harden, Papa, and Shved.
Just saw on Twitter from a dude named @DBAAyo that rockets were in talks with Hawks to send DMO, K Pap and 1st rounder for Millsap. Hawks are good, can't see this happening
I would think it's more that Shved's contract is more palatable and he was acquirable, and perhaps Morey did not agree on the current price asked to get Rondo. As for Dragic, PHX may not be open to trading him yet. Who knows.
Thought the first time I watched Shved that he was going to be really good. Hasn't showed me anything at all since then, and I don't anticipate him being any more than a salary-matching trade chip for the Rockets.
Doesn't feel like a Morey type move. Personally, I still think the play is Millsap AND Dragic at the deadline. Don't know if Atlanta will talk to us, but PHX will.
Our front court still comes nowhere close to matching up against any of the playoffs teams benches. The depth we have in the backcourt is already outstanding. Bev/Canaan Harden/Terry/Johnson/Shved Ariza/Brewer/Papa But...Motiejunas/Jones/Black Howard/Dorsey/Capela..leaves much too desire
I'd upgrade all four front court bench spots before upgrading over a very above average Beverley and emerging Canaan
Has the feel of an underrated move. Everyone is talking about Brewer, but Shved may surprise everyone.
That's exactly how I felt. When I watched him, I thought, "Hey I like his game." Then I looked up his stats, and was like, "Damn scrub!"
I always thought he looked pretty decent, but I just checked his stats and wow were they scrubtastic. Maybe he's a guy that looks better than his numbers, like Pap, but his shooting numbers are pretty terrible. Is he better than Canaan or Terry?
