Morey has done an outstanding job consistently finding 1st round talent in the 2nd round. He's done a great job improving the talent through trades and keeping the Rockets financially responsible when other teams like the Knicks did not.

Daryl Morey has been positioning the Rockets for years to be able to take advantage of an opertunity to upgrade the team with the belief that the league and David Stern was an impartial and unbiased governing body. Instead what the Rockets got was a commissioner totally biased, not so much intent on getting the best deal for the Hornets but trying to make sure other teams were damaged in the process.

If ever there was a case that the NBA might be rigged then this is it. This is a huge story, when I here guys like Ian Fitzsimons and Matt Mosely from ESPN talk about this being worse than the Tim Donahge scandle.

It is now clear that the league favors some clubs over others with a clear agenda to have an interest in damaging certain clubs at the expense of fair competition. As my sig states, the governing body is now in the business of choreographing player movement and championships. How are we as fans supposed to take the league seriously after this?

Hold your head up Daryl you've done a great job, you just had no idea the game was fixes before you sat down at the table.

Well said! I think Stern must go after this debacle.

I agree. This trade had ambition and a big pair of cojones all over it. If not for Stern there is a very good chance we would have Gasol/Nene/Chuck as our frontcourt right now.

This is the kind of move we were hoping for, something historically crazy had to happen to screw us up.

I think he has to go in order to regain any amount of credibility for the league. I just don't think it will happen, as Stern is so far removed from the fans that he could care less about public perception or credibility.

No it might the other way around, Daryl Morey and his PR team posing as CF posters.

Take a look at our team now, and look at the talent around the league. We are a bottom level talent, that's FACT. We just forced out a HOF coach and hired Mchale, who's bascially ANOTHER question mark. 4 years of "looking for the future" equals no superstar and bottom level talent.

Who's our franchise player? What core of players do we have to build around? 32 transactions in two years and still no superstar? With all the "assets" Morey's collected in 4 years, why arent we a playoff team yet?

Considering that most of his moves were ancillary to building around T-Mac and Yao, the fact that we now have the flexibility to make moves with any trade ASSETS at all is amazing in itself.

Lets not make excuses. Tmac's been out of Houston and Yao's retired.

We've been collecting "assets" and waiting for this supposedly "big move" for 4 years and we were about to end up with a 31 yr old soft center in Pau Gasol as our franchise player. That's just bad

Oh wait, were you expecting Morey to conjure a spell to turn Houston, the area itself, into a desirable destination for free agents, a la, New York, Miami, or LA? No?
Or have some Jedi persuasive power to sign the likes of Lebron to take his talents to South Galveston Island Beach to join K. Mart?

If you think Pau was an end in itself to the trade, you are very short sighted. If you think that getting Pau and Nene was an end in itself, you'd still be very short sighted.

I don't have much appreciation for Les Alexander who is doing a tremendous Drayton McLane imitation - failing to realize where the franchise is and what it's going to take to get it back to contender status.

I have appreciation for Morey who worked his ass off. Who has advised his owner of the way to go and been disregarded. It sucks for him that he'll be held accountable for the direction of this franchise when he's not getting to choose the directioin of this franchise.

Every single on your posts reek of a misinformed troll. Check this out:

2nd round pick - Carl Landry - Kevin Martin

2nd round pick - Vspan - trade for Scola

Scola + Vspan = Pau Gasol + Cap space for Nene

Essentially we were trying to trade two second round picks for a top 3 PF and a top 5 Center.

How can we possibly do better than that?

+1. They are working hard. Unfortunately they are working from a deck where the NBA took out all of the Aces and Face cards.

For years the Knicks abused the salary cap with no results to show for it. There is no room for argument with that statement, doing so would only completely discredit you.
