Sorry but Western Union is down and this wire is already old news. On the bright side though, James Cameron is making a documentary about it's remains which sit on the ocean's floor presently.
I rather give Alston another shot then this guy. How do you expect us to win any games with a no defense backcourt of AB & Martin?
that's the point, we're tanking for a pick! don't you get it? I thought that's what you people want, lol. seriously, martin and scola will be gone soon enough hopefully and all of our young guys will be unleashed and rebuilding will begin. brooks is a backup plan if nyk matches lin. Brooks won us the same amount of game lowry and dragic won us, so I don't think it's that much a difference neither one of them's a true game changer. though, i'd rather just start machado and see what he can do, I definitely wouldn't mind AB coming back. How could you know love the little man??? oh, and brooks>>>alston. I really hope that was a joke.
From the photo: <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/AtTmVxtTLsA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> though, he did hook up w Barry for an alley against the Lakers: <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/9X3LN0yFJwk" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
EXACTLY. The fact that the Rockets are even entertaining this is all the evidence I need to know they have no direction right now.
Rockets Interested in Aaron Brooks Don't see a thread about this, but close if there is one. Would you guys be on board for this?
I definitely am on board to bringing Aaron Brooks on this team if he is going to back up whoever is going to start for this team. Hopefully, he's not looking for an outrageous deal.
Has anyone checked if the Suns have withdrawn their qualifying offer for Brooks yet? I just don't see how the Suns can make offers to Gordon, Dragic and Beasley AND keep Brooks's cap hold on their books. Without amnestying a guy like Warrick or Childress. But Sarver's not one to pay out for guys not to play. I'd actually be pretty happy if the Rockets could sign Brooks to a relative bargain basement deal. People forget how dynamic he was for us on offense. For half the price of Dragic?! Sign me up! The fear would be that, if the Suns think that Brooks is locked in on an offer sheet that is worth it to them, they could just match and bring him back as a super-sub PG off the bench. Better if he were no longer a restricted free agent.
1. I recall reading that the Suns withdrew the QO on both Brooks and Robin Lopez a few days ago. 2. Feigen said HOU and Brooks' mutual interest in each other is not dependent on Lin's situation. Took a look at the math: seems that the most cap room they can have the neither NYK nor CHI matches HOU's offers to Lin and Asik is roughly $4.7mil (requires waiver of Livingston, Leuer and Smith). If only Livingston is waived the cap room would be $3.56M. Safe to assume the contract # is in this range.
yeah, people are all on the "what have you done for me lately" train and their memories of 09 playoffs and his brilliant 2010 season are long but gone. i would imagine the suns wouldn't match since they drafted marshall and already have dragic. i don't see the need to bring him back if you are phoenix. let the young rookie develop behind a stud like dragic instead of giving the minutes to a 27 yr. old. I don't think they match.
A lot went into his decline. Wanted extension. Rockets don't do that, but met with him/his agent. He feels better. Comes out and actually plays WELL- before the ankle injury. Gets hurt. Lowry steps in and plays well. AB comes back and while trying to do the team thing, is also in a contract year. Throw in the fact that Adelman would still run the isolation for him over and over again (it wasn't simply AB dribbling the clock out selfishly, like some have claimed), while he wasn't fully healthy... and you have a ton of things working against him. Did he handle it well? No. But, there was still a lot of bad luck and adversity for him to overcome.
Hell yeah bring Brooks back. He's the best remaining option and he'll provide nostalgia of our better times.
My feelings too. My brother was throwing around $5M for him and I told him I don't think AB will get that right now. I'm thinking $3-$4M. $4.5M is pushing it, I'm guessing. And, as someone said, will that be low enough that Phoenix decides to match/exceed?
