Most of us are willing to give up on Hill not so much because we don't like him as a prospect (though some sure do), but rather because we think of him as a PF and prefer Patterson.

He's better than Miller, but that doesn't say much.

Miller/Hill frontcourt as a backup is actually pretty good. Miller makes Hill so much better. Miller is old and cant guard the post like he used to, but for 15 min a game he can be very useful.

He also led that team to a winning record, something "most other avg shooters" could not do. He was the first option, meaning defenses concentrated on him first -- and yet he still shot nearly 40% from downtown while leading the league in threes.

He's not a superstar, but he's still a damn good player. He suffered a severe ankle injury this year, came back too soon from it, and then became disgruntled with his backup role. That's understandable.

It's not like he's suddenly reverted to the Rafer Alston he's always been. He's still a damn good player with a lot of talent whose being severely underrated by Rockets and other fans apparently. I mean good lord, someone earlier suggested we trade him for Sasha Vujacic.

One bad year and suddenly people forget about the two years before, including the playoffs where he won us several games.

He can still get traded during the draft/before FA season begins.

Isn't Brooks + our 1st rder an appealing package to move up, if Morey sees fit?

This considering Morey has wanted to move up in basically every draft he's been in.

Brooks's name came up in rumors to trade up the draft in 3 different drafts.

I don't see why another team would do that when someone could overpay for Brooks. Thus the team we traded Brooks to would lose their lottery pick and Brooks.

Source close to situation reiterates that Daryl Morey is Houston Rockets GM. Les Alexander is owner.

Is this trying to infer that DM is the one in charge of the moves and isn't being influenced by Les?

Its a pipe dream but it would be funny if he could give up a top 15 protected first round pick for say a top 10 protected 1st round pick...

-At the time the Nets needed to unload TWilliams right then and there so they were desperate for that pick to get an edge in the Melo dealings.

-Had they waited till now to shop TWilliams im sure they could have got alot more out of him, give him and Avery didnt rip each others heads off.

Hilarious posts like this are the funnest part of the trade deadline. I expect to be seriously entertained this year.

It's a joke, mocking the tweet stating generic info we've known for a while.

If that's the thinking, why even trade for him now then?

Why won't teams just wait until he becomes a FA to sign him?

It's because, like you said, he's a restricted FA.

Now or June, if a team acquires AB, they have the right to match whatever offer is thrown at him

Most likely referring to Dolan forcing Walsh to rush move for Melo etc...

This time though, everybody here on CF more or less, wouldn't mind him getting traded.

The previous years, not so much.
