"This weekend" could mean Sunday evening after they're done in Seattle and go to Oakland. Though, the Grizzlies will be in transit to Round Rock from New Orleans at that point.
This is why you're hot...

Astros leaders in OPS
1. Altuve .954
2. Valbuena .838
3. Springer .833
4. Eh, not necessarily. It is a pretty forward thinking move if you can get a piece that can help immediately in the deal at a position of weakness.

I'd still rather have his OPS, HR's and really under appreciated D at 3B. Bregman may take time to develop same for Reed. This is a team ready to compete now for a championship. Banking on Reed and Bregman both getting past the learning curve quickly is a huge risk. Valbuena has been on fire for over two months. I'd put a QO in with the hope of signing him to a 3-4 yr deal 80-90/mil. If Bregman and Reed both get to the point of hitting .275 or better with 20+ home runs, then I'd deal Valbuena. He signs elsewhere Luhnow gets a Rd1 comp pick in the range where he's selected McCullers, Reed, Cameron, Musgrove, etc in his first few drafts. That's really as good if not better for the type of big prospect hed fetch in a trade.
Thanks for posting. Interesting to hear him say in College they didn't emphasize when you pull the ball hit it in the air like they do in the pros. Would be a part of the reason to see so many more HR
Agreed. I don't think the Astros will do much more than make Valbuena a QO. The way the front office has operated the past few years, I don't see them wasting Bregman's rookie year by calling him up at this point, especially the way that Valbuena has been playing. And if they send Worth down to bring Bregman up, then Reed will be the odd man out and not get very many plate appearances, which he needs right now. I see a September call-up for Bregman, and I hope that they play him exclusively at third base in Fresno.
