Yeah, I pointed that out in the post below yours. Still, if he doesn't know the exact timeframe it is a pretty ambiguous tweet. "Bregman will be called up in the foreseeable future" according to multiple sauces. Can I be a baseball "reporter" now?
So that means every game doesn't count? If he can help this team and every game counts then why not bring him up now. We have some guys who are not even hitting .200 or who are right around that area.
When I hear/read a fan say/write every game counts, my mind interprets it as only games now and the immediate future count. Luhnow is trying to improve odds Astros win a World Series in the near future (not just this year's odds) within the budgetary restraints placed upon him. Luhnow is doing something that he thinks will help Astros win games later. That said. WTF Luhnow. Bring him up already. Minor league pitching is ineffective against him. Trying to extract value out of the 40th spot on the 40-Man isn't worth delaying him until the trade deadline.
I believe what we are doing first is shopping Valbuena + Minor leaguers. If we call him up now itll show some weakness with what we can get for him. Valbuena is studding out right now so why not see what sticks? I personally hate Valbuena and wish we DFA'd him
