Yeah, I doubt it... in fact, i sincerely hope that's not the reason. I want this front office to call up guys who can contribute to the big league club... and not be solely fixated on arbitration clocks.

I was... but then there was some speculation on what his contract would be if he did, so I responded.

I would be shocked if it's anyone but Worth, but I've been shocked before.

You going straight DFA to get him off the 40 man? Or do they keep him as filler (still send him down), and jettison somebody else?

The most feared statement in baseball: "Due up are Springer, Bregman, Altuve, and Correa if anyone gets on."

Eh...didn't really think about the 40, there's plenty of flotsam and jetsam you could get rid of there. Then just send Worth down, he's good insurance this year.

Duffy or Fontana would be my first thought (they have a ton of IF on the roster), trade Singleton for an A-ball guy, dump Chapman or Peacock, something.

I know "you can never have too much pitching"

But it baffles me that Peacock is still on the 40

Has to be a 60 Day DL to open a 40 man spot

I would guess either Worth DFA or sent to AAA and another guy removed from the 40

Reed down. Fontana off the 40 man roster.

Marwin, Valbuena and Bregman will fill the 3B, 1B and DH spots. Worth will be the backup IF and Marisnick will be the backup OF. Reed will go back to being the everyday 1B at AAA, who will get a September call up when the MLB rosters expand.

oh lord no. it would be incredibly stupid if worth isnt sent down or dfa'ed. he adds nothing to this team and he is clearly a AAAA player.

I find it pretty obvious that Worth will be sent down, I almost feel like he has been a placeholder from the beginning.

    RF Springer
    3B Bregman
    2B Altuve
    SS Correa
    C Lucroy (wishful thinking)
    LF Rasmus
    DH Gattis
    1B Valbuena (or Reed)
    CF Gomez

    Damn that lineup is stacked.
