didn't see it posted but bregs made law's #1 overall prospect last week: http://scores.espn.go.com/blog/keith-law/insider/post?id=5341 (needs insider access to view the whole article but you can read bregman's write-up)

They play at round rock again tomorrow. I wouldn't expect an announcement until after that game (Hopefully)
I don't see the need for him to play tomorrow if everything goes well tonight. Bregman is athletic/instinctive enough to handle LF just fine (especially at home) and they should want to get him an off day in Houston before it all begins.
[rQUOTEr]The Astros have not publicly committed to a timetable for Bregman's call-up, but it could come as soon as Friday. The Fresno affiliate closes a four-game series in Round Rock on Thursday, a night before the Astros open a six-game homestand at Minute Maid Park. The scenario of a Friday promotion would give Bregman two games with Fresno to begin his acclimation to left field, a process he could continue in the major leagues under the instruction of Astros third-base coach Gary Pettis, a former five-time Gold Glove Award winning center fielder. Bregman made his first Class AAA start at third base on Tuesday. The process of exposing Bregman to the outfield, one could argue, should have started weeks ago, perhaps dating to even spring training. But given Bregman's background as a shortstop, Astros general manager Jeff Luhnow has long maintained he feels last year's No. 2 overall draft pick can handle moving around to different positions. Whether manning shortstop, third base or left field, Bregman's carrying tool is his bat. The 22-year-old came into Wednesday night's game in Round Rock hitting .371 with six home runs, six doubles and 15 RBIs in his first 14 games in the Pacific Coast League. His 20 home runs this year between Class AA and Class AAA are one fewer he hit in three years combined at LSU. http://tinyurl.com/ABregman1[/rQUOTEr]
I'd say Bregman's arm is beyond pretty good. At the Express game last night, he was taking his warmup throws between innings from about 20ft behind 3rd base, up the left field line. Was getting it to 1st base on a line accurately. He doesn't have Marisnick's arm, but he throws better than just about everyone else (outside of Springer). Speaking of big arms, Aplin has a cannon. He made a throw from about 395' to 2nd base on a rope to get Gallo in the bottom of the 9th. He looked like a better defensive outfielder (center fielder) than Teo Hernandez. Couple of other observations from last night's game: Singleton is a monster. Seriously. He looks like a comic book character next to everyone else. Bregman isn't 6'0. I stood next to him (I'm just shy of 6'0), and he was shorter than me. I'd give him 5'10". Max. Nice guy though. Josh Fields still can't throw strikes. He had 7 strikes and 6 balls at one point. His fastball looked good, but he couldn't spot it. Joe Musgrove looked good. He gave up a couple of hits early, including a fluke double (flare over short stop that nobody went to get), but was almost unhittable otherwise. Only the first Cantwell double to left was hit hard. Everything else was a soft flare, or a grounder between 1st and 2nd. Hoyt is freaking huge. And he throws pretty hard. He looks legit. Obligatory picture:
jjP I like what I'm reading here. Huge Bagwell fan and really excited about this player. I wasn't paying attention or I may have driven to RR to watch him play. I usually go to the first series of a new call up. If he co,Es up this weekend I'll miss it as I'll be in Corpus catch the hooks. I'll be there next weekend for the Rangers series. Really looking forward to seeing this kid play.
Don't know when he'll be up, but in my dream he went 0-2 with 3 walks and a run scored in his debut. And it was a win. 3-0 or 3-2 I think. Here's hoping!
