    Sucks, but not surprising.

I blame this thread for swaying his decision

I have no clue why we keep going for these players. If they are focused on Europe basketball. Then screw it, trade it away.

Could mean nothing, or it could be we told him we will have to use cap room (no SnT) and will not have the MLE available.

no room for him this year. he's also not ready to crack the rotation. better to stay in europe 1 more year, play in next year's summer league, and try to make the team next summer.

Lots of reasons. No cap hit, you get rights to player in future years, player is better than players who could play here that we could pick in the same draft slot just delayed and the strategy allows you to choose a high upside player you would have no chance with if they were coming immediately. If you trade the pick your return pick would likely be equal or lower than the one you have or you would have to take salary back which would be a non-starter for us.

It's a very good strategy if you are trying to land all-star level talent because once you landed your group you can fill in with these guys in future years.

Morey already guarantee him a spot in the rotation I have a hard time believing his salary demands wouldn't be met if that meant he would come over. What gives?

Euro's go from being the big fish in the little pond to being the bench fish in the big pond. Egos are huge with athletes. Gentile would go from being a star on a championship team to shuffling back and forth to the D league.
From getting all the hot club chicks to diner waitresses.

I seem to recall something about him being married (at 21!) and close to his family. Perhaps that has something to do with it?
