A poster from the lakers board said that they heard on LA radio that he wanted his starting job back and 6-7 million. Fishers miracle luck shot must be getting to his head, because theres no way hes going to make that much money. I wouldnt give him more then his 3 million he is already earning. 4

If we can I think we should get jon barry. But if we can't I guess derek fisher is the best option. This guy is so annoying but I guess if it's good for us then we should get him. If we get him they better put 'no crying on national tv' on the contract.

Fisher is a solid vet and a million times better than, say, Kevin Ollie. I'd feel comfortable with him as our starting PG next season, even if it cost us the MLE.

I bet you can get cheap Francis Rockets Jerseys on NBA store. Look how cheap you can get Iverson jerseys now.

why are you always hatin' man? First you call Steve "a whinny *itch"

The guy can hit the 3 and distribute the ball. Thats exactly what we need in a PG. Imagine him feedin Yao?!

    We can also afford him.

Who cares if he flops? If anything he'll draw the occasional charge! No offense bro, but are you even a Rockets fan?

Whatever moves that'll make us legitmate contenders, I support!

    thanks LES

i'll rather have fisher than barry... cos bb is too injury-prone, how many games has he played the last 3 seasons???

exactly. The guy can play and hit crucial shots! He's been on championship teams and knows what it takes to win. I think, he'd be a very good floor general for us...

if we really get fisher and tmac next year, can yall imagine what lakers vs. rockets is gonna be like? shaq will be gone, so yao can school them inside, and then tmac vs. kobe will be awesome, and dfish playing his old team......man the media will run with it like crazy. on the other hand, i hope shaq stays in the west so he can keep playing yao 4 times a year.

if we met them in the western finals, it'd be some high drama

    especially with RUDY T coaching.

    Imagine TMAC vs Kobe
    Yao vs shaq (perhaps?!)
Rudy vs. his old team which basically fired

    Lil Francis.

Fisher wasn't torched. There's a fella nicknamed "the glove", number 20... yeah, he was the one torched by all of those point guards, including francis.

    and please, sign dampier.
    or don't trade cato.

nachbar instead of cato is good.

215 out of a possible 246. He missed 1 game, 7 games, and 23 games in the last three years respectively. Fisher only missed 12 games in the last three years combined, but 4 years ago he missed 62 games. Since going to Seattle, Bones has not really been injury prone.

Nah, I wouldn't say that. Yao's game isn't restricted to banging and dunking. He can shoot from anywhere inside the three point line, he's a better passer, and he doesn't have Shaq's ego, and thinks team first, Yao second and sometimes not at all. :p

T-mac, yeah comparing him to Kobe is pretty much right on the money. Attitudes are similar, game is similar. But, with Yao being so anti Shaq, in a very good way, T-mac and Yao will mean a lot better chemistry and camaraderie than Kobe and Shaq. Their game, personality and styles are a lot more complimentary to eachother, than Kobe and Shaq.

So, with these two being the core of the team, surrounded by such veteran and hustling role players. Makes for better chemistry and more 'team' play than the Lakers. Which is good.
    :D

After looking at the stats and trying to remember each of their games closely, I'd rather have Brent Barry over DFish if it came down to an either/or situation. I know DFish had a good playoffs, and I think that's what many of y'all are basing this excitement of his posibility of being on the team. But if you take a look at DFish's last year, his shooting and 3PT %s were HORRIBLE. And this was while receiving great looks in general from teams concentrating on Shaq, Kobe, and the passing of Karl Malone. No teams go in facing the Lakers and say, "alright, what do we do to stop Derek Fisher." His whole career has been with LAL benefitting the entire time from a tremendously talented ensemble. I'm not saying he's a bad player, but I think many people's memories are too locked on these last playoffs.

As for Brent Barry, the stats show that he has been a great shooter his entire career. And he's not just a spot up guy either. He's like a shorter, faster, quicker, Air Bullard. And the guy can dish the rock just as well as DFish. Barry is not a loser. He was just on a terrible Clippers team (and it's an unfair label to any Clipper who had to go through the 90's on those teams). He did help the Sonics to the playoffs and has shown to be a very important part of their team's success. When Barry was injured, I read that the Sonics struggled a lot and it wasn't a coincedence.

DFish is faster laterally, but Barry is longer. Opposing guards can just shoot over DFish. I remember when RudyT was here, he liked guys who could play many positions. Barry is not your "true PG", but he does have legitimate PG skills (and I'd argue that he has been more of a primary ball handler in his career than DFish). Barry can also finish the fast break, RUN THE FAST BREAK, slash to the basket, and most importantly SHOOT THE ROCK.
