D-Fish Baby! Yes! Les and CD would be cerifiable idiots if they don't go for it. It will be Shaq and Kobe redux for Fish, while we'll be getting so much: the best on-the-ball defender among PGs, clutch shooter, championship experience. Go Fish!!!

As much as I like Fisher, and I hear he's a great guy off the court, I really think we need a playmaker at the point, moreso than a three point shooter. Someone who can run the offense when McGrady and/or Yao takes a breather. Fisher can do that in the Triangle where all he has to do is tee up for long range shots and throw lobs to Shaq when he's fronted, but in a more traditional offensive system, I think DFish is a backup.

And forget about Kevin Ollie. He's a steady performer, but not a playmaker by any means.

How good of an on the ball defender is Fisher if the Lakers were getting torched repeatedly by opposing team's point guards? Billups, Hudson, Bibby, Parker, etc.

Barry is a big suspect to me. He has shown somw flash, but he's always played for losers, his defense is suspect and he is a bit clownish. I don't see intensity coming from him, the way I see it from D-Fish.

Here's the botomline: If you don't want a fishbone, pick Fish over Bones!!!

well if you saw in the playoffs, it was all P&R that was being ran at the Lakers. and it's hard to defend the P&R when your big man (shaq) can't and didn't move as he was supposed to.

Bibby...well he just lights up the Lakers regardless.

The Lakers can't guard the P&R cause Shaq would not come out to switch on the guards, that's why PG have success against the Lakers. Rudy was like that as well. It has nothing to do with Fish's on the ball defense.

What's his asking price? If it's like that, then thanks but no thanks.

I cant believe we got rid of moochie's contract and now possibly bring back overpaid ollie and fisher?

Exactly. They really are in trouble if the best you can do at starting PG is Derek Fisher. In this division alone he would get torched by Cassell,Parker,Nash,J-Will, and A. Miller. He might be ok to come off the bench and hit a spot up shot but thats it. Van Exel would be my target. But I shouldn't be having this discussion because Francis should still be a Rocket.

Wow, Fisher feeding into Yao, setting up JJ and McGrady for 3's.....

Damn, can't believe we might get a true point w/ some true PG backups. Now we have to find some other scrappy bench players to fill the blanks on this team.

I don't know guys rather than having to choose between Barry and Fisher couldn't we get both? Barry kinda seems like a tweener to me. Hes 6'6" and can hit 3s pretty well, but at the same time he averaged around 6 apg. Two guys that can average 5+ assists per game sounds really good to me. Only thing I'm kinda worried about though is the backup center spot. Declerq really kind of sucks! When Yao is out due to foul trouble I really don't feel comfortable having him play out there. The team is looking really awesome! I just think I will miss those 3 guys though because they were the heart and soul of this team for a long time!

    PG-Fisher/Barry/Ollie
    SG-Jackson/Barry
    SF-TMac/Nachbar
    PF-Howard/Taylor
    C-Yao/Declerq

i'd want both but i'm afraid that in order to get both, we would have to use both the MLE and the TE. MLE for one and the TE in a S&T for the other. rather doing that, i'd wish the rox would use the TE to find a starting PF or to fill the bench with good role players.

Derek Fisher should be soiling his shorts at the thought of coming to Houston.

Tmac and Yao? He'd lead the league in 3 pointers every year.

And add to his ring collection.
