Why would you come to an uber crowded roster, when there are others that would offer more playing time for him, a better shot to get your career jump started. Houston is STACKED with NBA players, we have too many rotational players, no stand out ones, but tons of guys that probably could play on many NBA teams. It is going to be a nightmare for McHale to juggle all the playing time. DD
Guys, this isn't anything to get all broken up about. Reggie was likely just an option to replenish depth on this team in the event that a major trade went down. It would be stupid for Morey NOT to look at quality free agent options to fill out a depleted roster post-trade. No trade. No Reggie. "The Thing To Get Upset About" happened a few days ago. Nothing to see here. Move on.
OK NY I can understand. I might even give you Portland. But Detroit and Bobcats over Houston? That's just crazy talk. Rockets pulled the plug on this for some reason IMO. Edit: Probably related to overcrowding here like DD says.
Detroit just lost Rip and Tmac, so there's plenty of guaranteed PT backing up Gordon and Prince. He might even start ahead of Gordon, crazy as that sounds. Let's not even talk about Charlotte's wing depth. Meanwhile, we can't even sign Parsons.
WojYahooNBA Adrian Wojnarowski Reggie Williams has agreed to a two-year deal, $5 million deal with Charlotte, a league source tells Y! Sports. LOL... Rockets lookin at everybody and succeed.
LOL, the Draftexpress guy is slamming this dude on twitter. DraftExpress Jonathan Givony If you're not good enough to get off the bench for Caja Laboral, then clearly you deserve to get 5 million dollars from the Bobcats, right DraftExpress Jonathan Givony In all fairness, its probably much harder to play in Vitoria than Golden State or Charlotte in terms of demands/expectations/pressure, etc DraftExpress Jonathan Givony Sure, Reggie Williams can make 3s. But so can a lot of other 6-4 guys who would play for the minimum. They might actually try on defense too DraftExpress Jonathan Givony Nothing personal against Reggie guys. Just feel there are a lot of guys who would have put up similar numbers in the situation he was in GS.
DraftExpress Jonathan Givony Putting up numbers on a losing team where NOTHING's asked of you defensively & you can take any shot you want doesn't say much in my opinion
DraftExpress Jonathan Givony Every time Reggie Williams was asked to play real basketball (France 2008/2009, Spain earlier this year) he failed miserably. Big red flag.
Same here but why did Rockets looked at him in the first place? I just hope they didn't really try to sign this guy and ended up losing out...again...and again...and again.. and again. This would just translate to Houston not being able to win even on a signing of a borderline bum. It's safe to say, they should've stayed pat during this offseason. Biggest losers in Free agency, big losers to the disgruntled players still here, looking like the biggest reject team in the NBA. I'm sad.
I think we are starting to read too much into every deal Morey cant make now. It is becoming a trend that disturbs me a bit.
Its not every deals that bother me. Its just the amount of attempts on deals that failed bothers me. Can't fault the man for trying, but the matter of fact that they keep coming up short time and time again simply...sucks. We got fans complaining about FA targeted players not being "worth it". Well damn, not even the "not worth it" ones end up coming here to play. To name a few recent "sources say"... Amare Melo CP3 Iggy Nene Gasol Gasol... ..... .. Reggie Williams (Oh Lawd I hope they didn't really try) Blame Stern...
Just a few hours too soon for Reggie. He would have likely been chased by the Clippers since Gordon is gone now and could have been playing alongside Paul and Griffin.
