He is absolutely killing us with mid-range shots...if we lose this series...wonder if Morey will then look to change his philosophy

I agree. With the next two in portland this series looks over. It is impossible to win on their court especially with aldridge playing like he is on cocaine.

Of course he has to change.

    When we get Lamarcus.

Morey has denied repeatedly that he has a "theory" against mid-range shots. He is against players that can't make mid-range shots taking mid-range shots which is the problem with most NBA players that take them. They aren't actually good at it. Morey would never say that Aldridge shouldn't shoot mid-range shots.

In contrast, Harden is proving Morey's actual theory correct. Harden is good at going to the hole and shooting the 3. When he shoots mid range pull-ups and fadeaways he bricks right and left.

what do you mean Aldridge is disproving it? Its been a fact and apparent even before this. All the great players have a great midrange game. The rockets take the fewest midrange shots in the league, and fewest by a LARGE margin.

His style of basketball doesn't translate to the post season. There is a reason Pat Riley just laughed it off once when asked about in a very condescending fashion, saying that being so 3 happy was fools gold.

You think its a coincidence that the rockets take such few midrange shots, the fewest in the league, and by THIS large of a margin? Its insane not to say its morey's philosophy. Dork Elvis needs to stop dictating this team's offense and let a competent coach dictate that.

Didn't the Heat shoot the most 3s in the NBA last year when they won the title? If not the most they were near the top.

The reason the reliance on 3s hurts the Rockets is because they aren't actually great at shooting them. They need guys like Mike Miller shooting the 3, not the streaky mediocre guys they have.

lamarcus aldridge had a 50.7 true shooting percentage this season. right now he is shooting over 70% from the field in this game on ridiculously tough and contested midrange shots. he is simply playing out of his mind. that doesn't mean we should start taking tough midrange jumpers.

Its ok to shoot 3s, but midrange needs to come first. Guys like Dwade, chris bosh, and Lebron can make midrange shots anytime on the floor. Wade barely even shoots 3s. So if that gameplan can give you open 3s, then yes you should take them.

What player on this team do you want shooting mid range shots? Maybe Lin? Flat linedrive Parsons? Dwight? Asik? Harden? LOL

Actually listen to Morey explain the team's offense instead of assuming you know what it is. Morey has talked about how the players on this team sort of dictate this. he has no objection to a midrange game that is efficient.

We now know one thing: Aldridge is never coming to Houston now. Not when he's stomping us to dust.

I know portland fans are happy now, but they have the best team in the league next round ready to destroy them. I am a spurs fan for the next 5 games after this series.

Series is over though, but at least portland will get bounced out by the spurs.
