Not a phenomenon I suffer from. If I like the performer, I'll likely like everything they produce. In fact, when they start making stuff I don't like, it pretty much sours all their work. For example, I liked U2's War, Joshua Tree, and Unforgettable Fire until they came out with Achtung Baby and whatever other crap came after that. Now, I can hardly listen to the old stuff. I don't respect them anymore. Most of the time, however, with a song that is somewhat problematic, I can appreciate what they were trying to do and enjoy it for what it is.
Ha, yeah, Dillinger is certainly renowned for their live performances. I've seen them four times. The first was by far the most memorable... They were headlining a bill with ISIS and Candiria, in I believe 1999. Both openers were incredible and I remember thinking after Candiria played, "Wow. Well, I'm sure Dillinger will be good, but I'm not sure anything could top what i just saw." Dillinger proceeded to come out and absolutely destroy any notion I had as to what a "concert" was. This was shortly after the release of "Caluclating Infinity" and Dimitry, their original singer, was still in the band. Jeff Wood of Shat was on bass. I naturally assumed that Dillinger's complex music would necessitate standing still in absolute concentration while they played. Nothing could have been further from the truth. The guitarists flailed their instruments around like weapons; I was actually afraid of them. There were around 50 people at the show, I guess... there was no "slamming" or "dancing" during the show, just 50 people standing there with their mouths open, unable to believe what they were seeing. After the show, I felt like I knew what it must have been like to see the Sex Pistols way back when. I went home and literally ripped down my Tool posters. That show only cost $3. My only regret is that no live show has ever been able to compare to it due to the absolute unexpected nature of what I saw.

Real quickly, since my time is limited here... Rass, Yea, I used to not be a big fan of "Money" and I can see where many feel that it disrupts the flow of the rest of the tracks on DSOTM but it has a great groove and a great guitar solo. ima, Yes, I do enjoy all the tracks on those albums. I used to buy albums for 2 or 3 songs, but now I buy albums because of the artists. What I always do is listen all the way through when I get a new album, at least 3, sometimes 4 times before I make a judgment on that album. Usually that includes listening to it at home, in my car, and on headphones. When you listen to an album all the way through, that many times, and you like the artist, it is not hard to wind up liking every track. Some others that I left off: Yankee Hotel Foxtrot - Wilco Turn on the Bright Lights - Interpol Pet Sounds - Beach Boys Maiden Voyage - Herbie Hancock Back in Black - AC/DC Murmur - REM War - U2
Bruce Dickinson - Chemical Wedding This has been posted twice ... hmmm ... never heard it - are you people going to make me check this out? Damn ... who knew ...
The Chemical Wedding is heavily themed off the work of William Blake of the late 18th century, even the cover art is one of blakes' paintings. even contains some oral narratives inscribed into some of the albums songs. wonderfully recorded and produced. i believe it was metal maniacs magazine album of the year for 1998 (give or take a year).
Good call on Joni Mitchell's Blue, Batman. Great album!!! Julian Lennon-Vallotte Kings X- Gretchen Goes to Nebraska Eric Clapton- Journeyman, Pilgrim The Knack- The Knack Night Ranger- Dawn Patrol Jimi- Axis Bold as Love (Every Album he did actually) Chicago 9
I actually have a Yellow Submarine t-shirt. I don't love that song, but I don't bypass it every time the record is on either.
Way too many to mention. With so much great music out there, it's gotten to a point where I won't listen to an album with that one bum track. Rocketman Tex -- have you gotten that re-mixed "Seconds Of Pleasure?" Terry Williams is EVERYWHERE.
Im not at all surprised to see most of the albums I would name already mentioned except one... Dawn Patrol?? damn fine call Mr Finn*..I always knew you were a man of discriminating tastes! off the top of my head... (heh...Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Zeppelin,Sabbath,ACDC) I imagine if I had a ton of time...I could go on listing for longer than Manny could.. macula, a Blaze fan?...I just couldnt get into Maiden without Bruce...it just wasnt the same.. Up the Irons!
I'm a guy who generally likes a lot of the songs on any given album, but I can't think of an instance where I love every song on a particular album. There is always, ALWAYS at least one song I don't like no matter how much I love the rest of the album. Don't know why that is.
to all the Queensryche fans, WTF happened to them??? after Empire it was like as if they totally gave up. RFO, Warning, Mindcrime, Empire, were freaking awesome. hell, even some of Promised Land was good. everything afterwards was complete and utter ****.
