thats how i feel about it - i thought it was pretty funny. its called satire people! it doesnt need to be accurate.
could yall just imagine the outrage if clinton had done something like traded nuclear fuel to india for mangos!
This probably deserves its own thread, but anyway here is more or less the history of the 1994 crisis -- basically the republican version of this story is a giant freaking lie: http://www.slate.com/id/2151354/nav/tap2/
150 million voters, man, they can't all read Weekly Standard or the New Republic, and watch Washington Journal. If JFK gets credit for Civil Rights, Reagan wins the Cold War. If Clinton single-handedly ushers in 8 years of peace and prosperity, then Bush gets credit for deposing the Taliban and Saddam Hussein. If Barry Goldwater can start a Nuclear War, then Secretary Albright can fist-bump Kim-Jong Il 12 yrs ago and have it still matter. Why the Dukakis camp wasn't rolling out old Ford footage in '88, I'll never know. Conservatives have the same Good and Evil argument that Liberals had for thirty years, that means easy, symbolic, factually imprecise gestures while Liberals look for and amplify bad news. Trust over truth.
