http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=hendersonbucks&prov=st&type=lgns With Mo Taylor gone and Vin Baker unlikely to contribute (though it would be great for the Rox if he were even to regain 30% of his peak form) would the Rox have any interest in the recently waived Alan Henderson? As it stands, we basically have Spoon backing up Juwan... and as much of a spoon-proponent I am, he seems like he has lost a couple steps. With Henderson, the Rox get a strong, effort defender and rebounder that can occasionally hit the mid-range jumper. Stuart
ok, you get what I mean though, Padgett is just not going to cut it over time (nor is Juwan). Scotty is tough and gives full effort when in the game, but doesn't have the athleticism and muscle that I think Alan Henderson could bring, albeit in a limited role. Stuart
I've always liked Henderson as a rebounder. The rest of his game is weak. I don't think he would be an upgrade to Padgett or Howard.
If we were able to combine Howards back to the basket moves, Padgett's range (and hustle) and Alan Henderson's rebounding/effort/defense, we would be golden. Stuart
Man! What ever happend to Alan Henderson? He used to be a decent PF. Although he got 13.5ppg/7rpg for a few years, maybe his low FT% and lack of rebounds did him in. Not sure.
He is still still solid and pound for pound a better rebound and hussler than Juwan. Only if we could waive Baker and land him. My feeling is that there may be a gentleman agreement between the GMs to let Dallas have him back in their fold. Otherwise I do not really any reason why we should not grab him. He will be a free agent after this season.
No, it was the injuries... His knees are shot and he has a creaky back. He's never been that good at anything in particular, and Atlanta seriously overpaid him. Mutombo covered up some of his weaknesses on D.
