that's just semantics back up or not, before Lin was injured he was playing like 2 minutes less minutes than Beverley, so does those 2 minutes demote him or something.

You don't dump something for the sake of dumping, espicially when you aren't starved for cap space and will likely get no value in return.

You are the one who should be reading, specifically about how the salary cap works and the team's transaction history.

The point is that Lin's pay doesn't matter to the team unless his cap hit is preventing them from having the cap room to sign a better player. Given the Rockets current cap situation, even if Lin's cap hit disappears magically altogether, the team will not have cap room this season or for 2014 unless it manages to trade Asik for no money, or no 2014-15 money, in return, an unlikely scenario.

Right now, the only difference the contract makes is to Les Alexander's bank account, and Les has not shown much signs that he worries about this kind of money. He's paid more than what Lin makes next year in "dead salaries" to Scola, Leuer, Forbes, Fisher and others and cash to other teams over the last few years for minor assets and cap flexibly. I doubt that he gives up a draft pick just to pay less money.

Well, it's not a bad idea to trade him.

Alan Hahn is Dolan's lapdog. Of course he's gonna put down Lin any chance he gets to save face for Dolan's stupidity.

Haha I prefer that to Harden on iso and then kicking it out to Parsons in the final seconds for a contested three.

not sure why everyone is flipping out over this guy. He's a servant of the Knicks who doesn't know all that much and his only evidence is what other GM's "feel"? Well I "feel" that people change their minds all the time so he has nothing concrete to back up anything.

Well I don't think DM will move Lin just for the sake of moving him, Lin is an asset, and an amazing one both off and on the court. It's hard to find a guy like him who doesn't mind coming off the bench but contributes as much or even more than what the starter does, just take a look at Asik and his mopey ass for comparison. Off the court, obviously you don't move him because the LOFs buy his merchandise and go watch to see him play every day.

It gets even better when his contract expires and we hold his rights, Lin will most likely re up with his best bud Parsons and most likely at a cheaper price too, not many people are gonna be willing to pay 8M for him.

So while Lin isn't untouchable, just like the rest of the Rox assets it'll take a juicy offer for us to part ways with him.

Hope it happens too. Then we can focus on improving the chemistry both between players and clutchfans.

It's not so much there aren't any takers, but rather Morey doesn't like what he's getting back.

That would be a great marketing move for the Nets. Can you imagine all the New Yorkers jumping ship just to spite Dolan?

But they already have Williams so the Nets aren't likely.

Except when Linsanity Part Deux happens and the trolls return in full force

Rockets get Deron Williams. Pelicans get Asik. Nets get Lin and Tyreke Evans.

Would be a terrible trade for us and great for the Nets.

Dwill is at an all time low value.

Moreyesque. And he's been on Moreys radar for years.

Definitely a high risk trade for Rox, but also high reward. Under normal circumstances, no way would Rox would get DWill for Lin and Asik. But DWill has some injuries and possibly attitude issues. Only 3 years ago, the PG discussions started and ended with CP and DW. Pelicans get rid of their crowded backcourt and get the big man to anchor the middle, freeing up ADavis to roam a little and not bang and get injured at the 5. Nets get to slap the Knicks in the face again by grabbing Lin. Toss in Evans means they play JJohnson less and they would have a pretty good backcourt. Remember Kidd is a backcourt HOF and if anything he would value a strong backcourt. $ works out pretty good, but there might be some filler in there. I think this trade benefits all three teams evenly.

Atlanta has a bunch of point guards already... Lou Williams is listed as a shooting guard but he's only 6'1... Plus their starting point guard is playing well and they have a promising young rookie.
