You can't really trust anything anyone says, unless there twitter has these 3 letter in it. "WOJ"

For those who need clarification, go check out the Dwight Howard thread and how many "insiders" reported that Dwight was going to resign in LA or choose GSW.

Clutch this was today. On ESPN New York 98.7FM. I heard it while I was listening to it on my computer, rewinded the streaming and recorded it.

Alan Hahn has a weekend radio show but he doesn't have a podcast archive. ESPN only stores so many

I don't really believe this. I guess I wouldn't be totally opposed to it, but Lin was playing fantastic basketball before the injury.

I agree with both of ya'll. One of the worst owner, if not he worst in pro sports. I would sure love to see Melo traded for Lin and spare parts though. I don't think adding Melo would give us a championship team, but it would sure give us trade value if needed.

Melo and Harden are iso heavy players so that would leave Dwight as the odd man out. With no real PG in the fold, this team could be a disaster. However whenever you can trade Melo for a Lin, you do it and do whatever else comes necessary after the fact.

Source makes no claim of actually hearing that Rockets are trying to trade Lin. I would put this in the category of abject conjecture, a New York pundit who is willing to say anything.

Hahn seems to be just listing random "available PG" for the Knicks since their PG situation is such a dumpster fire.

Doesn't mean that the teams will trade these guys, or more specifically will take what the Knicks have to offer for them.

As for Houston and Lin: Morey will trade anyone, but only in the right situation for the right return. If the $15M owed (and $8.4M cap hit) on Lin's deal next season is a turnoff for teams, I doubt that there are any beneficial deals out there for him right now. Morey might as well wait til next season to sell him when his contract is expiring, or just take the 2015 cap room to pursue the likes of Kevin Love in free agency.

The only scenario I see Lin getting dealt right now is if the Asik trade package either requires his contract for cap figure matching purpose or if the Asik return is an expiring contract and future assets so that dealing Lin for only an expiring deal opens up possible 2014 cap room (kind of like what happened when CP3 was briefly considering leaving LAC for HOU in the summer).

But these are highly specific cap situations that mostly likely won't happen.

since the rockets signed him the poison pill is moot. if the poison pill were active, the third year would count as 15m against the salary cap but it only counts 8.3 million.

Alan Hahn is more reliable than Feigen. But both them suck .

They're only in the East top 8 because every other team there has a losing record. Except Indiana, Miami, and Atlanta.

He's ridiculously overpaid for being such a one trick pony. Les outbid himself, so why would there by any takers now since he's regressed?

    He had no other offers.

His contract needed to be gotten rid of the second we gave it to him.

You also have to take his delusional, cult following that do nothing but burden a team's fan base in to account. People don't want guys like Lin and Tebow forced upon them. Look at how good you made him sound, when in reality, we're just trying to find anybody to take him off our hands without giving any draft picks or any compensation for taking his bad contract.

If Toronto wants to make a mockery of themselves, by all means, take the guy. Let him score 20 points with 10 turnovers and have a putrid record. If he's the best guy on your team, that's a laughable situation.

Even the 8.3 mil is ridiculous. Nobody wants a backup PG (in a PG flooded league) for that kind of money.

I would only want Lin to be a Rocket if I thought that Houston would be a championship team.

I hope Alan Hahn is right, LOL.

Good riddance to Lin. He's clearly not worth the poison pill $15mil. Imagine the superstar we could acquire with combined savings of $23mil when we get rid of Lin and Asik together. Carmelo Anthony anyone?
