Was a standout last year on the clippers then gained 20+ pounds in the summer and started the season off terrible. He couldn't even dunk early on, reminded me of McGrady last season. He did loose the weight recently and had a few good games then lost his confidence. And also the play of butler has been great for the clippers which has put him on the bench and kept his mins in check. Just been a very bad year for him.

When he is in shape he is a D Wilkins lite, the human highlight version. Can dunk with the best of them. But that's the concern, if he isn't in shape he looses all his athletic ability that gives him his edge.

If being in shape is a problem at this point in his career, Thornton has issues.

Umm what Al Thornton are you referring to because this article staates

Thornton weighs in on woes on court
    November 17, 2009|Lisa Dillman

NEW ORLEANS — Conventional wisdom held that a slimmer Al Thornton was supposed to be a new-and-improved Al Thornton.

Instead, the Clippers' Thornton slid back a step or two after he dropped 25 pounds during the off-season, struggling with his confidence, struggling with his shot and ultimately losing his spot in the starting lineup

Scola for Camby straight up? His defense is conducive to us winning next year.
