The same reason Catholics persecuted the protestants. Iraq was a secular branch with very few Jihadist ideals. It was just a dictatorship.

P.S. I don't have blinders on, I'm just well read

And because of the way we've mishandled things there, we also have provided them with tons of military grade explosives.

They were running a training camp in Northern Iraq before the war.

They had fled from Afganastan, Bush should have obliterated that camp...he didn't.

Yes that is a good point. If Saddam and these Al-Qaeda terrorists were such good friends, why did the terrorists have to set up camp in the area NOT controlled by Saddam.

Instead of going to the areas controlled by Saddam, they had to set up camp in the area controlled by our allies.

I am not sure you know how terrorists and Al Qaeda work. I understand your sentiment - you are grasping for straws. That is okay but it is downright myopic because the relevance of your earliest posts are lost on me. I will leave you with this though - Al Qaeda is just a name. If do not understand that then you need a new base.

Did you know that the northen and southern Iraq was under our quasi control under the no fly zone agreement.

Aside from that, there are over 10 countries in Africa that habor terrorist training camps. And many of these countries are under dictatorships and quasi dictatorships? So what? Please lets stop grasping for straws and engage our heads every now and then.

Geez, are we supposed to do 19 things at once? That's quasi-impossible you know? :D

Yes, I knew that, still was in Iraq, and we knew it.
