I have never downplayed anyone's opinions. Everyone is entitled to believe, as they want. I really think this really got out of hand and too many tangents off the subject occurred. What's the sad part is I am actually letting this get to me. I know I shouldn't care what a bunch of people on the internet think of my online persona but you guys weren't just talking to me, some of you were downright hurtful and rude and there was no reason for this thread to take a turn like that.
I don't remember claiming to "know you," so I don't know why you keep bringing that up. It's kind of like on Springer when some 12 year old kid says she's slept with 100 men, unprotected, the audience boos and she says, "You don't know me!" But I do know you're crazy. Here's how: In a thread about global warming, you say you believed in it until you found out Gore believed in it. Based on the fact that he is a "jackass," (LOL) you decided you didn't believe in it anymore. Further, you declared that there's no point fixing what is now virtually universally regarded to be the greatest environmental threat to the future of this planet because... God is going to destroy the planet anyway during the Rapture. I don't have to "know you" to know that you and that way of thinking are dangerously insane.
What do you mean? You insinuated that god had a plan for the earth (it's destruction anyhow) and a rapture. I can't let it die because it's important. The data is in hand, the consensus in the scientific community is clear. Yet our country won't do anything about it because we've been brainwashed by lobbyists that the economy will collapse if we try to stop the planetary climate system from degrading into nothing. I'm really not trying to be an ass - but people like you need to understand that this is not some made up, alarmist baloney. This is earth, and we have a responsibility to protect it and adhere to it's delicate, life-giving environment. And that applies to everyone, no matter what your spiritual ideology. Closing you eyes, or shouting that "it's meant to die" is not acceptable...
