A ringing endorsement from the administration.

At which point Fratto's head exploded as he walked from the podium.

    :D

More meaningless trivia from New Yorker. Gore is from a dark red state. The two frontrunners for the GOP nomination - Giuliani and Romney - have zero chance of carrying their own states. Also meaningless.

You obviously didn't see his series of moveon.org speeches in 2004. He was the most fiery speaker in the country, by a mile.

Apologies to Zac D. Posted before I saw his.

Can you tell me the last president to lose the popular vote? What about the last woman president? By your standard, neither Gore, Edwards, Giuliani or Romney has a chance to be president. You're a dork.

i don't think gore is the same man he was when he ran, you'd see a totally different kind of campaign. i actually think he would win in a landslide.

    i hope so...

but i think if he threw his hat into the ring, it would put the democratic party into a bind. heck it might even split the democratic party between hillary, obama, and gore.

i think gore would have to run as a 3rd party and that night cause the republicans to win.

i think goe knows this so he will probably sit it out. however, im sure if a democrat wins the office, they will appoint gore to a cabinet level position.

Congratulations to Gore. I like Gore. I was a supporter when he won the first election. I think he would make a great President. Gore/Clinton would be hilarious.

I wish he would run, but it doesn't look likely.

If he did, of course it would split the party. Any contested primary does that. The party's split now. Both are. But the Dem party will be united when there's a nominee and if Gore ran he'd be a contender for the nomination the day he announced. If he doesn't run it's not because he doesn't think he could win. Any serious observer understands he'd have a great chance.

And there's no way he would run 3rd party. He's a Democrat. If he wanted to run against Democrats he'd do it in the primary.

I agree he's in line for an important post with the next administration, but there's a potential (and likely) exception. Gore's indicated he will endorse a candidate and nobody believes it will be Hillary. If he endorses someone else and she wins, he probably won't be at the top of her list when she considers her cabinet. She holds grudges that way.

Yup - now how far back do you have to go?

Presidents who can't win their home state especially after being Vice President for 8 years shouldn't run for prez.

And the reason Guliani can't win ny is because of hillary, if obama gets the nomination, guliani may win ny.

Frankly, I wouldn't bet on any canidate that can't win their home state. Only a "dork" would think otherwise.

I think you have a poor understanding of politics if you think Gore can win.

As someone already pointed out, he won once before so your statement is kind of silly.

Winning the popular vote isn't winning an election.

And he did that running against a weak candidate. Had a strong contender run against Bush, it would have not been close. I mean, c'mon, Gore is to blame for allowing such an incompetent person get elected. Maybe if we had a better person we'd never be in IRaq.

And Gore's stock as a national leader has gone down. He's 8 years removed from the VP, and is now on the fringes of political spectrum. His cause is the environment - not enough to be elected president.

We need someone who puts American's first. No wonder Gore is so popular abroad, because Gore is essentially been attacking our way of life.

    God, you're stupid.

Gore won the popular vote. And his popularity and approval ratings have soared since he won the popular vote. And yet according to you anyone who thinks he could win (which includes every expert) doesn't understand politics.

Giuliani can't win his home state just because of Hillary (a person who isn't even from NY)? That's funny. NY's a very blue state. Since you're fond of such trivia, why don't you tell me the last time a Republican won New York (even when Hillary wasn't running  ).

I don't know if you believe this, since you're on record saying you like to post things you don't believe. But if you do you are way dumber than I thought.
